Cornell to Reading?
That Twitter source has been reliable in the past. Reading may have kept tabs last season, after loaning us Ward and then him not get game time? I guess half our fans would be ecstatic, and half concerned.

Cornell to Reading?
That would be a backward step unless we got good money

i would be amazed if he moves up 2 divisions based on last years performances.
but fair play to him - snap their hands off.
if true.

If we’re going to let Pierre go then it’s a no brainer to sell Cornell to Reading.

Perhaps your opinion is flawed - perhaps Championship managers are better informed than you are?

Really odd rumour to be fair, but the source is a pretty good one.
Maybe things happening behind the scenes we don't know about? Good move for Dai if so, not so much for us as it only leaves us Arnold (who we have seen little of) and young Lashley as our two keepers.
If it is for money, suppose we have no choice but to take it.

Not to worry, if Cornell leaves we will get a young goalkeeper in on loan from a Premiership or Championship side. That may be no bad thing if we end up with someone commensurate with the quality of Lee Nicholls say, less so if we end up with a Lewis Ward.
Interestingly Lewis Ward is still a Reading keeper now out on loan at Exeter.

HITC is a pretty terrible source so I'm confident that there is literally no truth to this rumour. We wouldn't miss him though so I'll be happy to be proven wrong. Bit of cash would be most welcome as we look to further strengthen.

However according to the usually reliable Pete O'Rourke "Reading are among a number of clubs weighing up a move for Northampton goalkeeper David Cornell"

Lewis Ward was well thought of by FGR fans during his loan period at the second half of last season. Sam Foley has now joined St.Mirren John Marquis has left Donny to join Pompey.

I’ll drive Cornell to Reading myself. Hilarious if we get money, mind you Curle will spunk it on another 6”10 striker.

I'll chip in toward your petrol. This would be hilarious if true. Cornell had the second worst shots on target to save ratio in the division last season. The opposition managed 179 shots on target over the 46 matches, scoring 63 times, 1 goal for less than every 3 shots on target. Only Notts County's GK fared slightly worse. Cobblers had the 7th best record for the least opposition shots on target last season, but the 17th worst goals conceded record. Hmmm.

Another one sided opinion from you? See Victoria on Twitter is a fan of Dai Treat her with caution.
