The reason we ship so many goals is because of the goalkeeper isn't very good.
The players player of the year - probably the most significant of all the awards went to Cornell . He has had a good first season . A word of advice - don’t just look at a goalkeeper when a goal goes in .

I wasn't at all convinced by Cornell when he got the number 1 shirt but credit where it's due, he's had a good season and deserves to keep the shirt next year. I don't understand the level of vitriol he seems to receive from some people.

Will we be having another post-Mortem next year?? I can see KC having to scrap most of the players he already has and starting from scratch, with players who don’t know initially how to play together. I wouldn’t be surprised if our first 6-7 games are right offs, by which time we have already lost 20-25 points.. Unfortunately it may be the year after next, before we can realistically think of promotion, unless KC has a system and players who he already knows inside out and who have already played together in the past.

Funny how since KC shipped out Ash Taylor we started to ship less goals, with regards to Cornell, I agree he has massively improved, fact is he's still not very good.

Keep an eye out for Bromsgrove Sporting v Corby Town play-off final this afternoon. We still have a player involved in that. 2000 - 3000 crowd expected, which is high for that level.

Don't know what went wrong with AT this season. He was good for us last season though and always a good professional within the club. I wish him well for the future.

Is McWilliams still at Corby - I didn’t see his name in their lineup against Bedford in the semi?

He got injured a few weeks ago. Jack Newell recovered from his injury and played in that semi final, as did Leon Lobjoit for Bedford.

Sometimes, there are just no words. Summing up the experiences of Curles football this season is not a feasible task, but these past few months were so magical, so unprecedented, so perfect, that I owe it to my you to try. First off, the hunger this team had was unlike anything I’d ever seen before,as in lack of it In 2019, the team had a de facto , but lost So throughout the season, it was clear that this group of guys wanted nothing more than to get that out the club. Having only served as a manager in 2019, Curles on the field tactics t are inherited that hunger, that “ring or bust” mentality, that the strikers had. On paper, we shouldn’t have had any doubters from the start. But in the football world, it’s always been the players and then the rest. So we knew that no one outside our hanging room gave us a chance – and we loved it.

This. He’s not very good. If we are happy for another bottom half season, then by all means keep him as number one. If we want a promotion challenge, we need much better. For a start, the amount of goals he let in from range this year has been far too high.

He's decent enough but seems vulnerable to shots from distance. Part of the problem has been the back up keepers not being good enough to challenge for the position so his place in the team was never under threat.

I have no idea why people are slating him. They are picking up faults that Prem keepers are also prone to as if he should be perfect. We are lucky to have him.

I'm not slating him - just making a perfectly valid observation and pointing out that he'd improve if the reserve goalie was pushing him.

I believe things would have been so different, if we had (and should have, remember) beaten Lincoln in the first game. After that despite some promising performances, but little reward, we had matches like Morecambe which was the first nail in the coffin for Dean Austin. And then there was Mansfield .... KC was brought in to keep us up, and at least he succeeded but let's be honest the football was poor. At times KC mystified us with some of his team selections and tactics. As for next season who knows what is in store for us .....

Sorry, I should have used this post to defend him: "This. He’s not very good. If we are happy for another bottom half season, then by all means keep him as number one. I think losing against Cheltenham and Port Vale put paid to our PO chances. Not all the football was poor; it was inconsistent tho’! We seemed to play better away than at home with the Crewe result indicating we could play when the mood/mentality was right!

I agree with the comments re the Crewe game. Interestingly the two stand out players were Taylor and JJOT. So what went wrong as we took seven points from the next three games .... I would say a lot down to KC himself

Agree with Beds that Thomas is to blame, not because of the off field antics, but solely for appointment of Austin, should never have been any where near the team once Jimmy left, should have gone at the same time. An awful appointment which killed the season before it had even started.
