He returned to Hammarby from la liga i think in 2011 when Hammarby was in the second divison. Retired last season. In one of his last games he somehow catched and Drank a Beer that was being thrown down at him after he scored a freekick. Good way to finish a career i must say

who is the biggest legend in Northampton?  Smiley

In recent years we have had Akinfenwa, Marc Richards, Ricky Holmes, David Buchanan and John Joe O'toole who were all firm fans favourites.

Search for Ricky Holmes goals for Northampton 2015 sesdon, some are just magical.

Above all the clubs all time legend is Rod Mcdonald aka Concrete Rod

hello meatball and welcome.   Do you think you could bring Jonas Jonasson with you when you come (I’m a bit of a fan).

Hello there!

Im new to this forum and i offer my apologies if my English isnt that good or if i post this topic in the wrong place somehow.

I was hoping some of you guys would help me answer a few questions.

You see, many of my fellow Swedes support an English team alongside their "local" team, Much since the Swedish league starts in April and ends in November. Being the huge football fan i am, i want to do the same. Obviously and unfortunately most of them are united, chelsea, arsenal, liverpool supporters etc. Thats not for me.

ive been following Northampton for a time already, mostly results via flashscore apps and such though. Unfortunately I find it difficult to find a way to watch league two games from Sweden. If anyone can provide me with tips for some kind of pay per view or something? (if that even exist) i would be very grateful.

I would love to visit the sixfields stadium next season! If so, for which stand do you recommend me to buy tickets? I dont want to impede or stop your atmosphere or chants in any way. although im sure i will learn your chants and join in whatever youre singing.

I hope you wont mind me asking these questions or visiting the sixfields stadium at some point even though im not a local. im a real football fan not just some clueless tourist!

Cheers

Welcome aboard STSW. Embrace the ride.

Haha the people home Will think im an idiot. ”You travelled to England and watched... who? Northampton? Not Liverpool - Manchester United? ” but i would rather be on a journey towards something good Than to start at the top if that makes sense.
Why i picked Northampton im not sure, like i Said ive been following the club via flashscore apps and such. I think i might put a bet on you guys way back, and thats how i started following. Im very glad i did and happy to be a cobbler!

Haha we Will see about that. My swedish team won the title last season, so we got Champions league qualifications starting this summer. If we make it all the way and play a English team, then defintely!

We used to have a fan in Canada who started supporting us because he managed us on Championship Manager, bizzare but this crazy sport brings people together in lots of ways, it's great  Smiley

Welcome STSW, I'm glad you didn't chose to be a Millwall fan Wink

Thanks! and i couldnt agree more Smiley crazy sport with lots of passion!

being on the topic of football bringing people together,
AIK and hammarby (Sweden) played a derby yesterday and was completely silent the first 10 minutes as a protest at over-policing and police eroding the fan culture. For those of you interested, here is a link from when the first 10 minutes silence ended. football is nothing without supporters!

well sixfields is nothing like that unfortunately I'd love to be at a game like that

So STSW, what do you make of the frenzy of signings NTFC have made (the quantity in such a short time period, not the attributes of each individual)?

Does your local club turn over as many players during their close season?

You guys make loads of signings! doesn't make it easy for me haha. I've been reading and watching interviews to try to get a hold of each player. Hopefully when matches starts I will get a better overview. If I´m not mistaken you played a 5-3-2 / 3-5-2 last season? same as my team here in Sweden. my experience of 3-5-2 is that the wingbacks is very important. not only defending but going forward aswell. Nicky Adams seems to be a good signing based on you guys reaction, I'm so exited for the season to start Smiley

sometimes we have crazy transfer windows with loads of activity, obviously we have to sell a lot of players being where we are in the food chain.

Hello there...
Been supporting the cobblers for 19 years now - lots of happy memories and sadness. You may see my Northampton town flag somewhere if you do come to a away game Haha. You are in for a crazy ride Smiley
