Welcome STSW. Following the Cobblers is never boring (apart from most of last year!). We are often in a relegation battle and about every 10 years we have a Championship party!! In between times there's often a drama with owners & money (or lack of it).

Very interesting to read your comments of Swedish football as we've grown to love Sweden after many holidays. We first only went to see a speedway meeting and now go back most years for holidays (we've also been to many Swedish speedway tracks) We've travelled from Jokkmokk to Ystad and loads of brilliant places in between.

I look very much forward to following the Cobblers!

Im glad you love Sweden, it really is a beautiful country (with beautiful ladies aswell  Wink)
Speedway is quite popular here isnt it? do you remember which team you were watching? not really my sport but i have a holiday cottage that is close to the speedway track and team rospiggarna.

I take it you been to Öland and Gotland aswell? if not i recommend it! beautiful islands to visit during the summer. Putin is very fond of Gotland though, been some Russian submarines spotted here and there during the years.

If you ever visit Stockholm and want to watch some football let me know! i can help you with tickets and give you a tour Smiley

What ever happened to Hammarby's finest... Kennedy Bakircioglu? I built many a successful team around him on Championship Manager during my school / college days

He returned to Hammarby from la liga i think in 2011 when Hammarby was in the second divison. Retired last season. In one of his last games he somehow catched and Drank a Beer that was being thrown down at him after he scored a freekick. Good way to finish a career i must say

who is the biggest legend in Northampton?  Smiley

In recent years we have had Akinfenwa, Marc Richards, Ricky Holmes, David Buchanan and John Joe O'toole who were all firm fans favourites.

Search for Ricky Holmes goals for Northampton 2015 sesdon, some are just magical.

Above all the clubs all time legend is Rod Mcdonald aka Concrete Rod

Hello there!

Im new to this forum and i offer my apologies if my English isnt that good or if i post this topic in the wrong place somehow.

I was hoping some of you guys would help me answer a few questions.

You see, many of my fellow Swedes support an English team alongside their "local" team, Much since the Swedish league starts in April and ends in November. Being the huge football fan i am, i want to do the same. Obviously and unfortunately most of them are united, chelsea, arsenal, liverpool supporters etc. Thats not for me.

ive been following Northampton for a time already, mostly results via flashscore apps and such though. Unfortunately I find it difficult to find a way to watch league two games from Sweden. If anyone can provide me with tips for some kind of pay per view or something? (if that even exist) i would be very grateful.

I would love to visit the sixfields stadium next season! If so, for which stand do you recommend me to buy tickets? I dont want to impede or stop your atmosphere or chants in any way. although im sure i will learn your chants and join in whatever youre singing.

I hope you wont mind me asking these questions or visiting the sixfields stadium at some point even though im not a local. im a real football fan not just some clueless tourist!

Cheers

Some sick goals by Ricky Holmes! Both his left and right foot seems to be lethal haha. Must be a nightmare  to defend against.

Another question is what do you think about players leaving and Playing for another club in the same league?.  Here you Will become a Judas quite Quickly, but thats probably because it must be easier to go abroad Than it is in League Two.  We have a player in AIK who has Been playing for us since 2003 and counting. Legend!

Haha the people home Will think im an idiot. ”You travelled to England and watched... who? Northampton? Not Liverpool - Manchester United? ” but i would rather be on a journey towards something good Than to start at the top if that makes sense.
Why i picked Northampton im not sure, like i Said ive been following the club via flashscore apps and such. I think i might put a bet on you guys way back, and thats how i started following. Im very glad i did and happy to be a cobbler!

Haha we Will see about that. My swedish team won the title last season, so we got Champions league qualifications starting this summer. If we make it all the way and play a English team, then defintely!
