Pretty simple for me. Stick with him if we are happy with mid table again. Replace if we want a promotion challenge.

An able number 2, but never an adequate number 1 imo

Spent money on a keeper. That possibly ends this one.

Why would we spend money on a back up?

It might have been a nominal amount . I don’t see anything so outstanding about this guy that guarantees he will replace a player that’s had a good season . It will be competition .

Depends how much money! The transfer fee is undisclosed, it could be a fraction of what we are paring in wages. Either way we have two decent keepers now...who can provide competition for each other...unlike last season!

Not exactly glowing reviews from Shrews fans, but I am happy to reserve judgement until I see him play. Good to have competition for Cornell!

Shrewsbury reporting £5k fee. Player wanted to be closer to home .

Although I think having a second experienced goalkeeper is a good move, I don't necessarily see the new man as our first choice. I wasn't a fan of David Cornell till last season, but he performed very well on the whole. Very few glaring errors and most keepers make a few over a season. Some of his saves were as good as I've seen from any Cobblers keeper.
To me, it's a sensible signing, but I do think we could get promoted with Cornell in goal.

I think if you take out the multiple account holders who voted its about 60/40 in favour of Cornell being a number 2 keeper.
