To quote Curle from the article:
"Part of the criteria that I put to Simon (Tracey), was that we wanted somebody that fills the goal, has a presence, so that when the ball is knocked into out box, he shouts 'keeper' and he is going to come and get it, and people are going to move out of the way.
Which are of course qualities that are severely lacking from Cornell's game. I could count on the fingers of one hand I saw Cornell come and claim a cross last season if there was another player even remotely in the way, while regularly seeing opposition keepers have no problem with this part of their role.
That’s fair comment but ....
Cornell is very good at other elements of his game . He is a good shot stopper and attacks out of his area well ( Stevenage at home excepted ) . I think Curle believes in Cornell but is pressurising him to improve .
