Just seen on the BBC that Jack Bridge has left for Carlisle. A shame, but good luck to him!

I think he had already been released, but good luck to him all the same.

What's he like?
not very quick not very strong nice touch very, very rarely effects a game apart from one game, strangely, last season against you lot i think at sixfields! promises much, delivers little, will probably fade into obscurity after 6-12 months

He has good potential. Makes the effort and can move well with the ball. Sometimes goes up a blind alley - but then, who doesnt in L2! Hope he does well for you - except 22 Oct and 17 March,of course!

I think that’s harsh . I think he’s a decent player that can cause problems . He wasn’t consistent though which is probably why he was released

Only came to the club because Austin coached him as a youngster. Never made the grade and i suspect that Carlisle will be his last league club.

Some very harsh comments about Bridge here, I liked him and was surprised he wasn't offered a new deal.
He was bought in as a winger and also played as a wing back, but despite flashes of ability he drifted out of the game too often in those positions. When played more centrally, in the hole, he was an entirely different proposition. He could dictate a game from there but was only given sporadic chances to do so as he was either left out or played out wide most of the time.
If used correctly, Carlisle could have an excellent player there, especially if he can bulk up a bit.

From the way put manager says he wants to play, I take it he's of high energy & hard working?
What's his primary position?
Potential to be good signing is what I'm getting We're a club picking up the pieces of what Curle & the owners done to the club financially

Huge potential. I too was very surprised he was released.
Seemed to play his best as a 'number 10' which is where he played against you guys. Had very limited other opportunities in that position, no idea why.

It’s true his best position was as a number 10 but if you play in that position you have to seriously influence the game and not go missing. I remember a few occasions , particularly at Cambridge when he was the invisible man . I was disappointed to see him released though.

won us one game out of 46.
is that potential.
at 23 it probably shows that he isnt that fussed and like many footballers is nicking a living

How was it Curles fault you over spent? Surely the chairman gives the manager a budget of what he can / can’t spend over the season in terms of wages, bonuses etc. If I were a manager I would spend as much as I was allowed! Think Bridge will do well for you, previous manager before Curle really rated him

I liked Bridge and like others was a little disappointed he wasn't offered a new deal. He's decent on the ball, can deliver a good cross and I think has a good footballing brain. I also don't think he was given a consistent run in the team and if given that, as well as being used in the correct way by your manager, could still turn out to be a strong player at this level at least.
He does need to 'toughen up' a bit though, and my guess it is his lack of physicality which led to Curle not wanting him.
He may prove to be a shrewd signing for you lot.

That’s exactly what I was going to say - the way some of their fans (and some of ours come to think of it) go on about KC makes him out to be some kind of Steve Evansesque ars*hole.

He only started 20 games last season, a bit much to blame him for lack of impact in the other 26. Apart from the 2 he scored in the one game you talk about last season he also got 5 assists. That isn't too shabby when you consider Adams got the most assists in League 2 last year with 16 in 44 starts and only scored 1 more than Bridge all season also.

I imagine that KC did not see Bridge as a promotion winning player unlike many of the signings he has made ie Lines, McCormack,Adams etc.
