Weren’t we in administration then though, or very nearly...

We'd just brought in Forrester and Gabbiadini which meant there really wasn't any room for Howard which was a shame as I thought Forrester and Howard were a better partnership.

When we got Howard he was a promising player and was quite a gamble when we signed him from Hartlepool. When he left he was a far better player and we managed to lose £40k

My recollection (probably wrong) is that his contract was up at the end of the season and he didn't want to sign a new one hence a forced sale before he left for free. At the time he played for us he seemed less physical than you'd expect or want from a man of his physique. He became a significantly better payer at Luton - better coaching, maturity ?

PS Talking about Steve Howard, of course.

Serious question - where do we rank in a league table for highest fees earned for a player ? We must be near the very bottom. The "Undisclosed" basis I guess stops such an analysis.

Depending on where you look it would appear that our record fee received is £470,000 for Mark Bunn. You're right though, so many undisclosed fees its hard to draw up a table for comparison.

Compare us to say...Peterborough, with their sales of Dwight Gayle to Palace for £6m, Assombalonga to Forest for £5.5m, Barnett to Norwich for £3.5m....and more, in fact they have sold no fewer than 12 players for a million pounds or more.

£400,000 according to Wiki but I thought it was less than that.

Luton just got £8m for James Justin!
After previously getting £3m for Andrey Gray..
Somethings very wrong down at Sixfields!
Yes, I personally question whether KT is in it for the right reasons. I mean, I guess you've noticed the unfinished East Stand...didn't he promise to complete that?

I don’t think so, Bunn & B Johnson have played in the premier in recent past, while F Hornby is a good prospect in the Everton youth team/reserves.
