The third welcome back this summer. Charlie Goode returns on a 3 year contract, leaving Scunny for an undisclosed fee. Good to have you back Charlie and good luck.

don't get all the negativity
I think a lot of it comes from the fact we had to pay a fee for him and coming on the back of the Pierre sale. It makes it seem like he is the replacement and although Goode is a more than adequate league 2 player he is a big downgrade on Pierre. Had AP not left and if Goode had come on a free I think the reaction would have been a lot more positive.

Very pleased to see him back. Not a leader in the AP mould and shouldn't be compared as such, but impressed last term.

That looks ominous, I hope that we get a good price for him...

I'd be more worried if the only match they cite as evidence throughout is one that was recently on telly!

"In possession, Northampton focus on getting the ball up the pitch as quickly as possible. They averaged 58.89 long passes per 90 minutes, which was the fourth most in League Two. As well as that, the Cobblers only played an average of 8.12 passes per defensive action against them: the third-lowest in the league. So the focus certainly wasn’t on keeping hold of the ball for the sake of it." Interesting stats, although classed as 'long ball' team, we demonstrated a master class of route one football against Exeter in the final. We played to our strengths and it worked. Wonder who the three above us are?
