A polite appreciation to Wilder at the end of the game is fine but any sycophantic chanting during the game for him would be disrespectful to the current team and embarrassing .
Move on - he has .
I'm running right up to him in the dugout to get my book autographed...via the centre circle!

You could also ask Kelvin for an autograph, he's signed more autographs than a Hollywood A lister as well having a selfies with nearly all our clubs supporters during his early doors, charm offensive period.
He Once came into Carrs bar shortly after he arrived to meet his fervently loyal subjects, where I was actully handed an iPhone by a chap wanting his photo with his royal highness the Duke of East stand, I made a quick excuse  and handed the phone to a girl in the long selfie queue.

Please don't, all this sucking up to other clubs is cringe worthy in the extreme. Many wanted wilder out after he struggled in the season after he kept is in the football league, he also dumped Thomas on us 4 years ago causing our club to drop down into league 2 without direction and wilder couldn't get out the door quick enough at the first oppertunity.
What is it with our supporters and their lack of of self respect..
Cobblers first and foremost,

I agree about the chanting. CW deserves a round of applause before and after the match for what he did for us, but no more. Whatever you think of Thomas I think it's outrageous to blame Wilder for what Thomas may or may not have done since he left. At the time, Thomas was the most obvious solution and one which nearly every Cobblers fan wanted to happen. I have no doubt CW genuinely believed in him. Without Thomas at that time would we still even have a club? - maybe, but quite possibly a non-league one. Remember I'm talking about that time, not with the benefit of hindsight which you've used to make his criticism.

Hoping to see a more coherent system and formation today.

IMO, as I've often said, results in preseason games may be irrelevant, but they are often indicative of wider trends and issues which manifest themselves when the proper season gets underway.

Last year the failure to arrange matches against genuinely competitive opposition during the pre-season campaign foreshadowed a lack of competitive edge in our opening league matches, a failing which ultimately cost Austin his job.

This year so far the general feeling I'm getting is that we have some decent individuals on paper, but that the system and formation is far from clear. Curle needs to establish a clear system ASAP - whether that's 3-5-2, 4-2-3-1 or something else - and he needs to keep the square-pegs-in-round-holes factor to an absolute minimum, otherwise our results are likely to be as inconsistent and changeable as the starting line up itself.

Success at this level is largely about organisation and tactical coherence. The more you ask players to think and act without automaticity the more they make mistakes. That's what I want to see today, regardless of the final result.

In the starting line up, I imagine a trial before a loan.

An attacking fullback

Again, I'm looking at that starting X1 and struggling to see a coherent system.

Is he going to play Bunney as a third centre back again?  Huh? Are Smith and Williams destined to be the new Rico and Revell?

                         Cornell
             Turnbull Goode  Bunney
Hutton                                        Martin

                Lines     Watson
                       Hoskins

                Smith   Williams

Also, strange that he's giving a trial to a young right back when he's only just signed Hall Johnson, who presumably himself will be an understudy/alternative option to Nicky Adams at RWB. Are Smith and Williams destined to be the new Rico and Revell?

Lots of questions.

I really don't want to be negative; I just want to feel that there is some sort of coherent plan going on.

Hutton (Like Martin) Can play all down the right, as well as CB. So maybe just some cover for the squad?

Must admit am puzzled by your dilemma: at mo KC is making do with what he has got! More defensive players to come in?

It was always a possibility another RB might be brought in, with the slot to be contested between Hall-Johnson and the new RB. This would free Adams to operate as an out and out winger. Is Bunney playing in LM in a standard 4-4-2, or is he LCB/LWB in a 3-5-2?
