I've seen a lot of pre-season games over the years, less so in recent times. I went last night, and from a footballing perspective wish I hadn't.

I sat there, with 20 minutes to go, thinking 'what is the point of this game?'.

Bunney is a wide player, with no apparent defensive attributes. So on the face of it, trying him out as a centre back...the only thing I can think of why you'd do that would be to 'toughen him up'! Maybe that was the reason, who knows. But I doubt it! 2 of the first 3 goals, were a result of Bunney not doing that job correctly. Not sure if its been mentioned, but shortly after the 3rd goal went in, Bunney clearly looked 'distraught' and totally bottled out of a 50/50, allowing the Sheffield Wednesday player to waltz past him with full control of the ball. In my mind, you've got to stick him on the wing or as an attacking wing back, and forget about trying him in other positions.

We also didn't look fit, first 15 minutes aside. That could possibly be put down to them being over worked on their Spanish weak, returning only 48 hours or so prior to last nights game kicking off. That would be understandable to be fair.

If we played a mid table championship side at home in the FA Cup, Id be disappointed to see us 4-0 at home, in a game that could have been 6 or 7-0 easily. Especially a team which changed their entire personnel at half time! So for me, it was hard to take any positives from last nights game.

I did think, and it hasn't been mentioned, that McWilliams was comfortably our star man and looked head and shoulders above anyone else in a black shirt on the pitch. He contained their winger/s very well, and from a defensive perspective I thought (one mistake aside) he was excellent.

Still. We wont know anything until we've played a handful of league2 fixtures. Just a few obseravations from your's truly!

I thought McWilliams looked uncomfortable as RWB and didn’t play that well at all . He certainly never got forward at all and also got roasted a few times , albeit by premier quality players.
The rest I agree with . Bunney must be wondering why on Earth no one plays him in his rightful position at this football club !

I think that Bunney was played at centre back due to the lack of available options. When the season starts, assuming everyboby is fit and available the back 3 will be Goode, Turnball and a new signing with Martin at left wing back and Bunney will be nowhere near the team if he is still here.
Adams I expect to switch to right wing back with McCormack defensive midfield, Smith up front with Lines Warburton and a.n other the supporting attacking midfield. Assume Arnold will be in goal judging by the last 3 team selections.

Thought that Bunny played LWB second half.

Looked a weird hybrid to me.

There were times it was clearly 3 x CBS,

Ohers just 2, with a LB and RB.

I felt KC was being too clever with his formation and selection last night.

Not many goals in that team because Smith is not prolific .
I think Bunney will be in the squad and have an important part to play.

The advanced sale prices are only available to Season Ticket Holders...… its £12 for them IN ADVANCE and still £14 on the day. For non-season ticket holders its £14 in advance and £14 on the day.

Why pay £14?

Some people don't know if they will be able to attend in advance.

I bet the online system doesn't even check.  The ST price option appeared on the drop down when purchasing.

Really, 7.30pm in the evening ?  For the sake of £2.00 I would make up my mind and book early. Some people are funny about money;  can only assume you paid £14.00 and could not be ar$ed to book in advance.

I'm afraid i'm not surprised you contradicted me!  As if actually posting the details and the link from the official website was not enough, you have to come in with your "one up-manship"

You see the prices......you underpaid! I would expect you, as the conscientious supporter of the club that you are, to make up the shortfall in your payment for that entertaining spectacle last night!    Wink

Well I've been ripped off then! Pre-booked Sheffield Utd game weeks back and have paid £14 a tkt!

Are your bracketed prices for STHs?
