At least they didn't steal £10 million from their local council.
That was individual gain and not the club gain . There is a difference as I explain above .
It’s why I have sympathy with Blackpool and Newcastle but not Bury or Portsmouth

You are assuming the fans are complicit or even have knowledge of the owners misdeeds. In any event we may have gained on the field for the stolen millions at the expense of the money for the stand - who knows? Perhaps we should all quickly check company records before we cheer a goal?

Their second game against Accrington has now been postponed.

I fail to see why you don’t grasp this . It really is quite simple.
If a club is failing to pay its bills , making office staff redundant and appears insolvent , it should not be lavishing money on players wages it cannot afford and taking the plaudits for promotion.
It needs to cut its cloth accordingly .
If private individuals are underwriting the losses , then fine providing creditors and staff are being paid .
If my club was not paying its creditors but paying players top dollar and at the top of the league I would be just as critical .
Bolton and Bury deserve to be punished .

I see Bolton have suspended ticket sales for their first home game. Things are looking bad for them.

Their (Bury's) Carabao Cup tie at Sheffield Wednesday is the latest match to be “suspended”.
They have until the 23rd August to meet the demands of the EFL otherwise it is goodbye.

In the name  Northampton Town Football Club someone ripped off the council.

Bury's owners have not been running the club properly.

Is it the fans fault? No.  Should they suffer? No.

If we had ripped the council off and actually did the East Stand you lot would not be saying our club should be punished.

Let's stop being so snobby. Im furious someone stole 10 million from our council, regardless of the fact the council is crap and would have only wasted it anyway.

Saturday's game v Tranmere is off and Sheffield Wednesday have been awarded the Littlewoods Cup tie.

Unless they resolve this pretty quickly, they only have three days left in the Football League.

This is going to the wire, isn't it? The owner says he's sold the club, the buyers say it hasn't gone through yet, either way it all has yet to be ratified by the EFL. Fingers crossed they make it, but at the moment I wouldn't be that surprised to wake up tomorrow to the news that they've been booted out.

Poor Feckers I remember when they were cheering us on at the famous 3-2 win at Shrewsbury.
Looks like they've been given an extension till Tuesday now, 5pm is the deadline.
What a mess but at least they're unbeaten this season..

The new Bury owners have pulled out of the deal, sadly typical. If Bolton can go to the wall nearly every club bellow the top seven or eight could at some point go the same way, there but for the grace of God and all that.

Absolutely gutted for Bury fans, shame on the EFL for letting unfit people run football clubs.

Very sorry for Bury supporters. So sad. A football club is so important to its community. We are lucky to still be here - and hope this warning is heeded.

Yep. This should also dispel the myth that "there's always someone who will rescue the club". In our case we were lucky and KT and DB saved us. Whatever they may or may not have done since, we still ought to be grateful for that initial rescue and recognise that if they hadn't saved us, any alternate offers might not have gone through and we'd have found ourselves in the position Bury do now.

Simply not true, there was another consortium with money, anyway the situation at Bury was very different.

There were three other bids from people who had money yesterday.
