Why don't you replace the word Bury with Northampton, then Cardoza for Dale
Can't see you being happy with your comment...though you might see how wide of the mark you are!

I also didn't mention playing in the 3rd round either as you know full well under Thomas's cheap option journey men, that's a bridge too far.

He cannot win.

Signs players on big wages and for transfer fees = waste of money, should promote youth or non league.

Changes tact this summer = cheap journeymen.

Quite right .
Bury were paying top wages and yet were not paying back room staff or creditors .
They took the place of Mansfield in promotion who were solvent .
It was a farce .
I do accept we were in a very similar position but the big difference is we found a buyer and paid the bills.

I suppose we could argue that the money did not come from northampton tax payers, rather the Council facilitated the loan with money from central government.

We could also argue that we spent ‘silly money’ in a vain attempt to stay I. League 1 on the likes of Crooks, Van Veen and Hasselbaink, money which never materialised from the abortive 5USports shambles, and money which now sits in the loss column of the clubs balance sheet.

But bad debts built up that may one day be our clubs full share of any land grab windfall?
This would be my guess in the less than open, murky waters of accepting unconditional promises from one who has not delivered on any previous promises regarding redevelopment or club sale.

You know absolutely nothing about what wages were being paid to players...their manager at the time, Lowe (now at Plymouth along with half the former Bury squad) has categorically stated that none of his promotion squad were on top/high wages.
The point is not that it is a like for like situation, more the rather (typically from many fans on social media) dismissive attitude, as if it's the fans of Bury's fault or even the club staff!
Steve Dale is at fault - as was Cardoza, the Grossmans and related henchmen...not the club!

Posting RIP also carries as much sincerity as a cowboy roofer from Watchdog!

The reference of 'dismissive' and 'RIP' are in respect to 87's post btw.  Wink

They may catagorically state that but knowing human nature they are unlikely to say they took high wages from the club that has gone belly up due to financial reasons - you first point is correct it’s unlikely anyone on here knows what wages were being paid - high, low or par for L2

What bad debts are you referring to? Now or some imaginary ones in the future?
