I think you might be disappointed. Looks like I can buy a video pass for a tenner.

Yep it's a no from me. Fourth year with B teams, 4th year of absence. And yes, I'll gladly skip a Wembley visit in this competition too.

The experience at a live match is better than IFollow. It's more real and vibrant. Each to their own though. I'm going and it's a 50 mile round trip for me. I'm looking forward to it. It's only £5.00 and there will be plenty of interest - the game itself as a contest, the potential quality of Aresnal's youngsters, some of our own getting a chance, Fisher in goal (?), Curle's chance to try more assertive tactics, a good view with plenty of seating to choose from.

I wish it was at Arsenals new ground though. Never been there. Highbury - probably 50 or more times.

ps the fact that so few will be attending will mean we can hear a lot of the vocal exchanges as well as the physical impacts.

Made an error the cost is only a £5.00 - seems you are doing it the expensive and lazy way. Plus that fact you are depriving your club of much needed support!

In spite of Saturdays showing which was dreadful will probably go. I am disappointed to see the list of supporters not going although one or two have not as yet witnessed a game this season.

How would you know? Huh? Roll Eyes

Highbury was the closest Division 1 ground to where I lived 1981 to 1987. The Cobblers have only ever been the team I actually get hot under the collar about. First game April 13th 1971 against Grimsby (0-4 home defeat). I've been well over 500 times since then.

I wonder if there will be anyone there tonight who witnessed the victory against Arsenal in the FA Cup in the late 50s.

Yeah, but what was the closest league ground to you between 81/87?

It's probably the wrong weather to get hot under the collar over the Cobblers tonight.
Cornell to win out in the penalty shoot out...

Easy answer - Orient. Went there twice. Cobblers won both 1-0 - the Carr Cobblers glory days.

That was 50 years ago and still at School so I went. Remember Tebbut and Yeomans. They had a centre half called Fotheringay who we signed.

casual error there!

Even better was our first season in the old Second Div when we played LO who had a highly rated Centre Forward called Bollond it was a very muddy pitch and ended 0-0 with Bolland looking like a mud wrestler - Branston just flattened him every time; or he just fell over! Even at 0-0 you could tell we had form! Over 16 coaches came from Northampton that day.

I lived in Kilburn 1982/82 rented a bedsit for 20 quid a week. Nearest ground was Loftus road but I never went there until we played them in 2001. I stood on the kop a bit though when at uni in Liverpool.
I can also claim over 500 Cobblers matches, not sure exactly how many though.
Orient away with Shilton in goal was one game I remember, and being joined by a few West Ham lending us their support.
