Yeah I know loosely connected but how great to see Alex Wakely's video of them singing The Fields Are Green in the dressing room, Well Done Northants, incredible achievement, now the Cobblers to make it a double promotion season https://twitter.com/i/status/1177144440428908544

A significant achievement. You have to presume the change of captaincy was key.
I hope they don't chuck loads of money at staying in the top division and get themselves into a right mess like last time.

where would they get this imaginary amount of money from - they have nothing to spend so staying up will be a massive achievement.

Issuing long generous contracts to players.......................... When funds come through from the ECB they will have that to spend. Lending - they've had short term facilities from various partys in the past - the council, private individuals and so forth. Are you aware of the issues they've had in the past ?

The next level was a huge step last time we went up. Hopefully we can be the best of the lesser sides (and get to play them twice and not the best sides). Rossington has been a fine motivator, the opening bowlers often outstanding this season. We lack a top class spinner and really consistant batting - a fully fit Vasconcelos would be great.

Excited to see how Sanderson copes in the first division. Over 250 wickets at under 20. He, together with a new opener to partner Vasconcelos and a front line spinner, will be key.

Congratulations to Northants!!! Huge acheivement and great to see them back in the top division.
I think they have a better chance of staying up this time. Last time they were there they had their weakest bowling attack of the last ten years or so. With the likes of Sanderson and Hutton I think they have a decent red ball bowling unit although the batting will need strengthening I think.

We are quite fortunate in the county to have two sports teams playing at the top level, and of course the sleeping giants that are The Cobblers.

It's a fantastic achievement for a small county. Notts coming down. Ben Duckett's move to them hasn't exactly paid off for him.

Northampton is the only Town in the country to have professional football, rugby and cricket teams.

I’d normally move this to other sport. And I can’t stand cricket. But it should stay in the main section, just because it’s a decent bit of refreshingly good news....

That is a phenomenal achievement by Northants . My hat goes off to Rips and Rossington. Once again , it just shows what team spirit and characters can do . Surrey going down is like Man Utd being relegated .... wait a minute ........

Tremendous achievement from mid season; use to follow the results and did so again belatedly since August. Personally would like to see all three pro sides do well. Puts a spring in your step when they all do well. Looks like the new skipper has captained the side in a positive manner.

A change of skipper and maybe a more positive attitude worked wonders. Completely turned their season round after poor one-day form. Lets hope this time they manage to keep their star players, add some depth to the squad and maybe stay in division one for more than one year.
