When very young can remember watching Freddie Ramscar play and also Reg Elvey. Memorable moments was the game at Millwall in 1961 I think - where there was a 'boxing match' between Gale(centre half) and Howarth of Millwall; both sent off, Gale with blood pouring from his head and Howarth with huge black eye. An even more memorable game was at Crystal Palace where we paraded new signing Cliff Holton; he scored 3! In  my view the best striker we have had so far. Was at Brighton where we won 0-5 in 1964, Kurila and Branston were outstanding as was Frank Large who scored 3. In more recent times Ricky Holmes games at Stevenage, Luton and the draw against Mansfield, big mistake for him to leave us! I failed to get back to the coach in time whilst in Bury Market and was abandoned so had to make the 17 miles on my own initiative. Arrived just in time to witness Bayo's goals which included a thumping header. No longer a great drinker but the antics of a boozer inside Coventry Stadium at one of the internal stair entrance was entertaining. CW man management style in front of support at Accrington and Notts County were impressive.

Me and a mate outside of the Tavern, after a game, having a smoke. Some skinny junkie comes around the corner dragging a box behind him. Are you lads police? he enquires, "Do I look like one?" was the response, dressed in a claret shirt, beer in one hand and a fag in the other.
Good, he replies. Because Ive just nicked this extra large TV from Sainsburys. Do you wanna buy it?
Big Norm the doorman steps in, and says, I will give you fifty quid for it. Take it, or I will phone the police. Norm went home with a Telly in the boot of his car. How that skinny little scrote, managed to get that box out of Sainsburys is beyond me.

Teasing Mark Bosnich from the North Stand about putting "prawns on a barby" and when we asked him why he had joined Chelsea, he craftily made the money symbol with his hand behind his back.

If I remember rightly, Gabbiadini scored first and then we got thumped but they had a lot of talent on show. 8-1 I think it finished.

Kevin Broadburst getting sent off fRom the dugout and sitting near me in the West Stand on his mobile to the bench. I think it was a home match where we wore our yellow away kit for some reason.

Does this count?
Normally at the County Ground the Cobblers only played till the end of April, because the Cricket Club then took over, but in 1989 because of a fixture backlog they played Bolton on 13th May, my Wedding Day!!
I had bought a Cobblers tie to wear for the occasion but it was discovered by my better half two days before the big day. She tied the offending item into a million knots and threw it into the bin saying she would get me something better! Later I retrieved the tie, undid all the knots, ironed out all the creases and walked up the aisle in that claret beauty! You have to start as you mean to go on.

1991/92 season: standing outside the County Ground away changing room, listening through a broken window pane as an apopletic Billy Bremner gave his Donny Rovers team the hairdryer treatment after we had well and truly done them over (3-1 think). 2 months later he'd resigned.
