Easy to say that now my old buddy.
Sure it has picked up and no doubt the run in the cup has helped with finances to bring in ‘better players’ This league is terrible and fair play to Curle he has turned it around but by Christ the football is horrible to watch at times but seems effective.
The time is now to get behind him and the team and if he doesn’t get us out of this division I guess this thread will come alive once more
UTC
Not so sure the football is terrible, I much prefer watching a team winning than and playing like we are now than losing and playing tippy tappy football. Last night it was good to see the performance from the young Aresenal lad and it was also great to see the team working together so well.

Before Christmas I was done with our anti football but since then something has clicked between players, fans & manager...
For a long time, ever since CW left tbh, we've needed an identity...
We've now got that under KC, and the players & fans have also bought into it...
Might not be the prettiest to watch but it's extremely effective & the entertainment value should increase with the new additions bought in as they give us the extra legs & pace we've been missing...
When you consider the state we were in when KC took over, relegation dogfight with overpaid underperforming players who didn't give a toss...
KC has also dramatically reduced the wage bill & in turn bought in some proper characters/leaders, who fans can really relate to
It's nice to finally have some stability at the club.

With one of my 'two faces' I want to watch high tempo football with players like Morley and Stratford scoring for fun.
With my other face Curle is judged on results and he is passing that with flying colours! He is bringing in better footballers as the season progresses, so well done Keith.
See you at Macclesfield with whoever is fit to play!

I don't think there's any likely point in getting carried away - Keith is doing very well at the moment, but it is true that the football would be terrible to watch if it wasn't coming with elation of scoring as many as we do. However, I think it's important to remember when the bad times come again, which I'm sure they will at some stage, that he has now shown that he knows how to build and coach a team properly in this division, and to not get trigger happy if we happen to lose a few games in a row or something like that.

Talking about James Olayinks in KC's post match interview he talked about how at training he had to get Arsenal's way out playing out of his system. If anybody had any lingering doubts about the style of play... btw happy to have a winning side to watch

KC comments made complete sense,, get him landing on the second balls in the opposition half to express himself. Must say he did some fine tracking back during the first half last night too

Agreed, the standout was when he chased down their number 30 (who was really good) down the line and won the ball back first half. I was just surprised KC made the remark about de-Arsenaling him. Guess its all ok when you're winning

Lately, Arsenal have been trying to get out of Arsenal’s way of playing

I was very surprised KC came out with that comment . It doesn’t exactly endear teams to lend you their players at a young age . It’s the way we play , it’s not attractive but it’s ok when you are winning . If you are not winning , expect severe criticism and falling gates . In the meantime , opposition managers keep thinking they are the better side !

That’s true, in the past managers were always conceding we were better. I remember Michael Crappletons famous quote. “If only we were as good as Chris Wilders team, they were way too good for us and played us off the park. It was a treat to watch”. You don’t hear much of that these days do you?

De-Arsenaling him...made me chuckle. Got me wondering whether or not, as part of a players fitness test/interview etc they have to demonstrate significant hoofing ability as well. Imagine KC - 'yes Lionel, I know you've scored over 500 goals for Barcelona but can you hoof the ball 50 yards? If not, then fcuk orf'!!

I couldn't care if they hit the ball with a football sized fairway wood, as long as we are winning mate. That's because unlike most, I know with the every season bar a few in the last 50 odd years the football been no better. But that's the problem with social media. We appreciated it more when we wasn't spoon fed premier and champions league football, and all we had was the Pink un to argue with..

Remember this thread? Good job we stuck with him and he's been rewarded with a new two year deal. Some stability at last but how long into next season will it be before the knives are out?!
