....any news on this - an outrageous decision but it still wouldn't surprise me if the appal fails

Just been announced it’s been overturned. You know it’s a terrible decision when you win a red card appeal. Usually very hard to get them overturned.

Probably easier to overturn with it being the lino who made the decision, ref certainly wasn't giving red

Does this mean that the linesman who got Oliver sent off will be disciplined/demoted.As for Kettle nothing new in him making crass decisions he has been a joke referee for years, should be pensioned off.

So if you don't blame Kettle and his colleagues how can you hope to address such issues going forward, saying it was just one of those things is a naïve way of brushing things under the carpet, there is an issue that needs to be addressed and clearly and simply it is the capability or lack of it of the officials on the day. Rescinding the red card reinforces the fact that errors were made by the officials.
