More of an observation. A lot of people are saying keeping McCormack fit will be the key to our season and I don't disagree, McCormack will be 36 in January. However, Lines as you say is in decline (I don't necessarily agree) he will be 34 at the end of November. In my opinion two quality midfield players that can, on their day dictate play. Also, players like McWilliams and Pollock are hopefully learning a lot from both of them and will help their progress.
Fair enough. I'm not suggesting that at 34 Lines is too old I just simply think he's well past his best. I'm not sure how you've perceived his performances so far, but I haven't seen anything from him to suggest he is going to be an important player for us this year and would like Curle to drop him as in my mind he isn't bringing much to the team. He looks so slow and ponderous on the ball and doesn't appear to get around the pitch too well either. To me you're better off sticking McWilliams in there who has a far better engine and then let McCormack be the ball player.

Now McCormack is back it is time to rethink central midfield. Not sure we can play McCormack and Lines together, what with a combined age of 107, definitely need someone with young legs. So either McCormack or Lines alongside either McWilliams or Pollock would give the best balance I would think.

Especially playing a high press , high energy game . In my view , this is why we fade so badly in games . We did again on Saturday. Not many teams in any division can keep that up .

Other than agree on the form of the unfortunate Lines; I don't think we faded badly last Saturday; this is an exaggeration which suits your familiar opinion on manager/team.

Evers if I may be so bold as to illustrate why you irritate so may people - if you simply say you don’t agree we faded on Saturday you are expressing a valid opinion (in this case one I agree with) but you always have to follow up disagreeing with a dig at the originator - stop doing that and you will get a lot more respect.

I agree that we didn't fade badly on Saturday, or at all in fact. IMO we were coasting to such an extent that the last 5-10 minutes plus injury times felt like an anti-climax.
