Maybe we should make an offer for Wharton ourselves ?! I wouldn’t say he is so outstanding that he is capable of Championship football

Hamilton signed a Winger yesterday, don't know if that could push Miller along.

There's an interview on the Chronic website with KT (yes apparently we do still have a chairman) in which he says there are funds available to KC to sign new players, but there is no need to rush as we already have a good squad and things are going well, and in any case, he says, we can always use the loan market as we got a good one in Scott Wharton. It doesn't sound therefore as if there will be much if any activity in January - that's how I read it anyway. Whilst I accept we can put out a decent first 11 our options on the bench are not so great, having lost McWilliams and Smith to injury and having sent Waters out on loan. If we lose Wharton and one of Goode or Turnbull get injured or are suspended we will be in trouble.
In my opinion if we are to have any aspirations to promotion this year we need at least one defender and two forwards, and I wouldn't mind if they were loans assuming they were of the same quality as Wharton.
He also waffles on about the East Stand but I have given up all hope of that ever being finished in my lifetime, in fact it probably won't be finished in my 4 month old great-grandsons lifetime either.

KC has said he wants a different type of attacking player, someone lightning quick who scores goals for fun would be nice (£50m+).We also need a first team level defender or two if Wharton leaves. Otherwise I don't think we are as desperate for players as we have been in previous January transfer windows, don't want to damage the team spirit we saw at Burton.

We have a bid of actual cash money in for a player as of yesterday, not Miller who I’m still sure is a goer

I know stats arent the be all, but his goals to games ratio ain't all that. Although wiki doesn't state how many of those games were as a sub, 54 in 218 isn't great.

Dont know if Mansfield would want to let him go, but from (the little) I read up on him hes one of those Strikers who runs themselves into the ground. Maybe a bit like Marquis.

Those that were at Salford on Saturday.....do you think we need a Thomas-Asante type player?
Take away the diving and deliberate handball, there was expectation and excitement not to mention danger every time he got the ball. He can (or players like him) make things happen. Someone with genuine pace and a half decent football brain bursting through the middle....

How many Danny Roses are there? Perhaps it should be like show biz where you have to have a different name if its already taken?

Danny Rose is very much in the current mould of our forwards, except hes a better finisher than Oliver and Smith (so the statistics say).
Oliver is involved in more aerial duels than any player in the league per 90 mins... and its not close to second! The Danny Rose we are linked to ranks 4th in that list, with Matt Harrold and James Hanson in 2nd and 3rd, so very much the target man type.
The difference being, Rose has 7 league goals this season against an expected goal return of 6.75, pretty solid. Vadaine has 1 league goal against an XG of 5.55. As we all see, he causes major issues for the defence, but hes not a finisher. Smith has 3 goals against an XG of 2.9. Williams has 8 goals against an XG of 5.02, so as we all can see, hes comfortably our best finisher.
Signing Rose would make sense. He can rotate with Oliver and offers an increased goal threat, would be a positive addition in my eyes!
