Good point but they are 12/1 to make the playoffs. We should be parading the Champions Cup around the pitch by then  Wink

And the FA Cup

Any updates?

Curle has helpfully provided that today. CEO’s are talking finances and we face competition from other clubs, and we have backup targets if those fall through.

I suspect that the public knowledge that NTFC have £500k+ in their bank account thanks to the cup run doesn't particularly help the negotiation strategy...

On the flip side, it could potentially help us and other targets are now attainable that weren’t before the cup run.

It  could mean we are £4 1/2 million in debt NOT £5 million!

I know of a couple of players who are ‘on the list’ as it were but whether we’ve bid for them in particular or not I don’t know. Club are rightly keeping it close to their chest while other clubs are sniffing about.

KC has already stated other higher league clubs are in for these players too, so it won't do any harm naming the names you've heard would it?

Understand if you can't though  Grin

Keep us posted with whatever snippets you can

Exactly the right areas we need strengthening ! We do need cover at centre half though if one of the three got injured .
Totally understand why you can’t give names or clues because it comes straight back at you . I had the same issue when DA was manager .

Not sure if we were/are in for Hallam Hope, but Swindon now after him after losing both Doyle and now Jerry Yates, who has been recalled by Rotherham...

Now, not sure if Yates was signed by Curle when on loan at Carlisle, so wonder if he's one of the players we've made a cash bid for?

12 goals in 25 according to wiki. 6 in 23 last season for Carlise (so after KC's spell there). He's 23. I cant see us going for that kind of proven pedigree/age combination. He'd be 250k plus, easily!

The signing of someone like Yates would be a huge statement of intent. He is out of contract at the end of the season so it may be that Rotherham have recalled him to sell him now, particularly whilst he is in form and at max value.

The suggestion was though that he was recalled because of injury issues for them up top, if he plays a game for them soon then its only Rotherham or Swindon for the rest of the season.

Hope has signed for Swindon, eighteen months deal, undisclosed fee.
