Completely agree with this. Don't park on double yellows, don't get a ticket. Simple.

Same with speeding.  The majority, if not all drivers, speed at some time or other above a limit that is determined for the safety of other road users, pedestrians and the surrounding environment/conditions.
If you do not want to be caught and sanctioned for speeding or parking illegally, just don't do it, simple really...

The point that I was making, and it seems to have gone right over some peoples heads, is that in town on the second last Saturday before Christmas, there would be loads of people parking illegally and causing obstruction to the traffic. The Traffic Wardens can not be in 2 places at 1 time, wouldn't they be better off booking people who are actually causing problems ?

Well when we're community owned we'll be able to have a 9 floor free-to-use multiplex car park with omnidirectional exits, fully costed and paid for by the subs that the 30 strong first team squad (all from within the NN postcode region) will pay.

At the end of every home game there is an exodus of cars from the pub, restaurant car parks opposite the official north car park because people are too mean to pay to park in the official car park. It is time illegally parked vehicles in the pub, restaurants car parks were clamped. You are depriving the club of income by not using the official car parks.

Just posted this to see if you disagree, after all I am on the Trust board, so in your eyes it MUST be wrong.

Would the North Car Park be big enough for everyone if no one used the other car parks ?

Probably not, but there is the grass car park at Duston Mill Meadow and the car parks along Edgar Mobbs Way?
Is there a P&R from the EMW CP or will there be when the fair is in town in the North car park?

Since we no longer have the south car park more people use the north. Recently, I believe it was the Notts County game, as the north car park got full they also opened the car park opposite nearer the council tip. This is the car park used when the north is being used by a funfair or circus.

Been done for speeding both here and in the UK about 20 times in total DC. Not one of them was a conscious decision on my part to speed. 3 reasons I got them. 1. I do 60,000 miles a year so statistically I am more likely to make a greater volume of mistakes. 2. A large percentage of my errors are on unfamiliar roads where I am not totally sure where I am going so my attention to the speedometer is compromised. 3. I’m not a great driver anyway as my mind constantly wanders from the task at hand. However, the difference between here and the UK is that a couple of kilometres over the speed limit here gets you 1 point off the same maximum limit of 12. In the UK you tend to get the same punishment for a minor error or a blatant flouting of the law? Doesn’t seem right to me?

Blimey Melbourne, sounds like you drive "Without due care and attention " surprised it's just speeding you get done for. 😁

I've been caught speeding 3 times over 40 years and one parking ticket, every single one of them my fault, no excuse. In the past I've had jobs which entailed driving about 30,000 miles a year  so I'm quite pleased my tally is so low.

I like the system over here. up 30% over the limit gets you just a fine.

Not "illegally", maybe a moral argument. There is at least one area that is totally public with no signage. If everyone was 'forced' to pay for parking I'm sure it would wipe a few hundred off the attendance.

If you buy a season parking ticket for £60 over 23 games it only costs £2.60 per game. Price per game is even lower if you include the 3 cup competitions and pre season friendlies which you do not have to pay extra for. So it is hardly going to make you destitute.

So by the same token, I guess you'll have sent your cheque off to save a baboon in the Equatorial Savannah...just a tenner a month!
