We always buy a car park season ticket. I know there's plenty of free parking around the various leisure facilities on the Sixfields site but to be honest. I don't consider it fair that people use up the spaces belonging to those businesses when they aren't giving them any custom. They must lose loads of trade on a Saturday afternoon because their potential customers just can't park (and I'd imagine this outweighs any boost they get either side of the game, with the possible exception of the two pubs).

You cannot make cheques out to pay monthly amounts - der.

Post dating the cheques would achieve that...

Of all the available charities I have no idea why he selected that one. It is not one of the charities I support financially but I might add that I always put my hand in my pocket for those collecting outside the ground on match days.

In the case of the Tavern and Megabowl, I'd imagine they deliberately leave the parking restriction-free to encourage football fans in for a drink or food before/after the game. Not saying everyone who parks there does this, but the businesses seem to have decided that it's better on balance.

Obviously subtle humour isn't your thing but...the point being your "won't leave you destitute" comment!
Saving a baboon (if possible) at a tenner a month would also not likely render you 'destitute'...though like all the charities asking for a (menial) monthly sum, it adds up!
Likewise, admission prices, programmes, pies...or M&S mince pies over those from Tesco's!

Although the Lidl's Mince Pies are nice too...there are other Mince Pies available.

I do visit Barton Co-op most days, but if I need other things I go into Wellingborough and park in Morrisons.

So if you forgo buying 3 packets you will be able to pay to park at the next home game and still have 50p over to buy some sweeties.

I saw a traffic warden mince pie in rather a hurry the other day whilst I was sitting in my parked car on St Giles street. Looked like he needed the toilet quite badly.

At the end of every home game there is an exodus of cars from the pub, restaurant car parks opposite the official north car park because people are too mean to pay to park in the official car park. It is time illegally parked vehicles in the pub, restaurants car parks were clamped. You are depriving the club of income by not using the official car parks.
so basically you reckon people ought to get clamped for not giving money to the club?
How about the people that use the pubs pre-match? Can they still park in the pub car park? Or would you like them to move their cars across the road at 14.55?

If you didn't want the council to go revenue chasing to prop up their ailing finances, you should have voted for those who would have supported the local councils and put money into the services they run.  However, collectively, you voted Tory, so don't expect it to get any better for the next 5 years.  Apologies and sympathy for all those who didn't.

Add that slant to the baboons!

Wow, I feel so humble that my little post was deemed worthy of a reply by a member of the aristocracy and none other than the 12th Marquise of Northampton (over inflated ego of self importance?)
Yes, you can read, that was exactly what I was saying and many of the people who park there are not using the pub before the game as you see them arriving. It is why Sainsbury and the retail park adjacent to Mansfields ground have a parking time limit - to stop the freeloaders. Suggesting moving the car at 2.55 is rediculous as you would miss the start of the game.
Anyway, I am sure you lordship does not park illegally, after leaving your stately home to attend the match as you would have your chaffeur drop you off and collect you.

Not half as good as the 50 odd mince pies you served up on the Coach Saturday. Thank you; only my mother made better!  By the way Jim had two as did The Hask and Barry.
