I'm a little surprised that the club haven't done a "New years special offer". After new years day the next 3 home games wouldn't be in the "must see" class, Morecambe (Sat 18th Jan), Scunny (Tues 28th Jan) and Port Vale  (Sat 8th Feb). Would an offer of "3 games for £50", a saving of £16, or even buy 2 get the 3rd free be worth considering ?  Or, for families, buy an Adult ticket and get one or two kids tickets for free, none of these matches are going to sell out.  I know they are trying to sell Half season tickets but a small "bundle" of tickets might sell a few extra.

Season ticket holders bring a mate for a tenner? Then the onus is also on the rest of us regulars to get people along and might be more effective/have a larger impact on the attendance

The only problem with this is, can your mate sit with you ? In the more popular areas of the stadium most of the seats are ST holders therefore your mate can't sit with you unless you switch seats.

How would season ticket holders in any stand other than the North feel about cheap bundles of tickets being sold throughout the season?
If someone pays £400 for a West stand ST but could buy 8 bundles at £50 a pop where is the financial incentive for shelling it all out on one go?

Bundle tickets could however be offered in the North stand, or perhaps reduce the price of East stand season tickets next season to take into account the lack of facilities in that stand, then offer bundles to fill all those empty seats.

No I don't advocate regular "bundles" but the 3 games I mentioned are not that attractive fixtures. It could be an incentive to get non STH's out of their houses on cold winters days and nights ?

I think news will spread about the team but too many people have turned up to see dire football for too long. Many dormant fans have been burnt and only recently have we started to play football that you are relatively entertained by .
A member of  staff on the playing side said to me he couldn’t understand why people paid to watch us in September before we changed our playing style .

True...but if the deal is a success and brings in another 200 fans in January maybe the marketing gurus at the club will think they can bring in another 500 in March and April. Rather that than look at empty seats??

We should go back to the old Sixfields pricing....The West Stand is the premium stand so you pay the full price there. The North Stand behind the goal is cheaper for a reason, and should be on matchday too.
As for the shell of the East...somewhere in the middle for season ticket prices with deals for accompanied kids as now, and bundles on matchdays.

Just my thoughts mind you......no way though should North and East Stands be £24 on the day......!!

There is no reason at all to charge £2 extra for people who buy on the day. We get around 4500/ 5000 home fans depending on factors, why the difference in price ? No logical reason for it apart from trying to discourage people from buying on the day, which I'm sure it does.

We don't charge extra on the day, we charge less if you buy in advance. Most clubs do the same.

FWIW I'd be tempted to purchase a half season ST in the North Stand or East Stand if it was heavily discounted. The North Stand offer @ £199 is pointless.

How unique is the UK in attracting such large attendances to fourth tier games ? We're obsessed (in a good way).

Suppose it depends on what you're calling a large attendance......the likes of Macclesfield, Morecambe attracting sub 2000 crowds, or the Swindons and Plymouths.

A look down the European leagues sees fourth tier divisions made up of B Teams in Germany and Spain for example, I'm not sure we want to go down that route. Italy's fourth tier is actually 9 regional divisions, the French third tier is semi-pro and the fourth tier (itself split into 4 leagues) is non-professional.

So i'd guess we are quite unique in this country with the make up of our leagues and indeed the popularity of our game outside of the big clubs.

A few years ago I had a conversation with a Dutchman, when I told him I supported Northampton Town he admitted he had never heard of us and asked which league we played in. I said we played in the 4th tier, at which he laughed and asked if anyone else went to watch or was I the only one there? He was gobsmacked when told that our average gates were pushing 5000. So yes I think this country is unique.

Become more professional in what it does, Encourage the the clubs catchment to get involved with a series of genuine exciting projects, get out of the fourth division and stay out! Improve the infrastructure to be able sell up to 3000 tickets to the bigger clubs/ local rivals without the need for draconian ticket restrictions.
And most importantly,  stop land grabbing outsiders badgering the council for the land the club stands on...
It's as easy as that to attract a whole new generation of fans.

I'm a STH, I know what your saying but surely there must be some deals we could come up with? Like I said, Scunny on a Tues night in January, STH we are going because we have paid, but your average punter, is he going to pay £24 on a cold night, probably got Champions League on TV, to watch Cobblers v Scunny ? Offer him/her a deal and they might be interested.

So have I. I recall the same coward failing to post answers to questions on another thread, so it would appear he is spewing his usual crap on this one to avoid the issue.
