I take it that was aimed at me and a few others, I was there today and loved every minute of it, great game and we even played some football.
Get the fcuking chip off your shoulder and lighten up a bit, are you a Corbyista by chance?

It wasn’t aimed at anyone in particular. I was amazed and disappointed at the outpouring of criticism of KC, his tactics and certain players after a couple of dodgy results over Christmas bearing in mind we’d been on a very good run that took us into the play-off positions. Some don’t want KC to succeed here and that I find very strange.
I couldn’t make today following a family bereavement but would have loved to witness it first hand. Looking forward to the draw and the chance for KC to put his wits against one of the big boys.
And no, I’ve never even been to Corby.

I am as delighted with the result and performance today as the next fan but i stick by my comments about the football being as dull as dishwater, however today we looked like a different team, they all looked up for it and played some very good football against a decent footballing side. IF we played that style and tempo every week, wed be promoted no problem. Trouble is ,today was a one off. we need these performances more often

Sorry to hear about your bereavement mate, and yes Corby is better off avoiding.

..... so, how close is this to the way we play?

(Please note the final comment from Moyes.....  and also Mourinho's philosophy on football for any of those who know anything about the professional game)

Says the man resorting to petty insults earlier in this thread.

You've still not explained what you meant in your post - 'red flag flying high'? A nonsensical comment.

Agreed - MW I thought there was an agreement to keep the politics out the equation - I think we all know your leaning without it entering the fray on football matters

So..... I started this thread. Do I retract my post? No.

Don’t get me wrong I’m delighted with our results. Am I happy with the “football”? No.

One moment summed it up for me today. Ryan Watson, IMO our best footballer tried to play football near our own area and was caught in possession. He was given a bollocking by KC and Goode. Next time he got it in a similar position he launched it as far as he could. Is that what I want to see? Again. No !!

I know what some will say. “Stop bloody moaning” etc. But am I wrong for wanting to be entertained for my £380 a year?

I enjoyed a total of one second of that match, Lines’s strike! The rest was turgid stuff at best. Yet another manager correctly stating they could/should of won. Personally that grates me, but hey ho if we go up I’ll be happy. We saw in the last 10/15 minutes that if that team were given permission to play a bit more then they are more than capable.

I had a bit of an epiphany today while listening to the usual f***ing moron who sits behind me berating Curle for being negative while we were 3-0 up:

We play shìt football very well.

That's the top and bottom of it. It might not be to everyone's taste (including mine) but the fact is it's the middle of January and we're 2 points off the automatic spots and in the 5th round of the cup. What we're doing is working and changing our style of play at this stage would be foolish.

Stood with someone I know at half time and 2 folks I didn't know and we all agreed that the fare on show is poor, papering over the cracks was a term used . we are getting away with it as teams are coming here and not taking simple chances , we are pretty reliant on set pieces (not today though ), relying on Goode throwing himself to the floor whenever possible to gain free kicks

Lines goal was absolutely sensational. Goal of the season so far for me, beautiful.

Agree 100%, showed a touch of class, so why don't we use him more? At times in the first half he was in acres of space in midfield while we lumped the ball over his head, what a waste.

With the exception of the Graham Carr season and Wilders season it has always been like this. It is lower league football.. Survival is the game. Sometimes we survive it so well we even get promoted.

Let’s hope we “keep papering over the crack” until we are promoted.

We play shìt football very well.

That's it.
Combined with that, we don't play fluid passing football as brilliantly as some make out.

Yes, we can play decent passing football at times, but not consistently.
A) We're in League Two, not the Spanish top flight.
B) Other teams, Crewe, Plymouth.... are better at the passing on the deck game. If we play them at their own game there is only one outcome - we lose. We beat them, and I found that very favourable compared to playing pretty defeats.

I'm happy to leave playing the beautiful game the beautiful way for another day. Right now, I spend 90minutes wishing we were playing better, but the rest of the week buzzing that we're genuinely in the (automatic) promotion race, bagged another 3 points, scored 4 goals including a worldy, and have Rooney & co coming to teyn.

Bring it on!
