What did people think of the ground today? One of the strangest venues I’ve been to since the Withdean!
Tidy little ground, but all very ‘temporary’ and miles away from anywhere.
I don’t see the Salford business model standing the test of time. They had fewer than 1900 home fans there today....and this is whilst they are only charging a tenner. They are a smaller outfit than Macclesfield I’d say. Next year a lot of the revenue will dry up, away teams wont be taking a thousand every game once the novelty has worn off.
Yes they have a rich group of backers....but they still have financial fair play to contend with so it’s not like they can throw loads of money at the team.
My thoughts exactly, with them charging £10 and a gate of less than 3,000 brings in an income of £30,000 which, basically, needs to keep them ticking over for two weeks. With the staff and players they have, I very much doubt that it would cover one week, surely the financial fair play rules will pull them up ?
