On the plus side , the indications from stalwart Derby fans living in Northampton are that they are likely to be playing a second strong side against us

I would be surprised if R H-J was selected as he is a right sided player. Goode plays right, Turnball centre and Wharton left. Therefor think a left sided player more likely to be selected which probably means Martin unless we recall Jay Williams.
Going back to last nights game the referee was just as poor when we had him at Mansfield.

Out of Williams, RHJ & Martin, I'd rather Williams every time...

Playing against a Championship team should suit his calm persona perfectly, with Goode & Turnbull guiding him, could be the real making of him

Failing that, RHJ as Martin is a total liability

I’ve got a nagging feeling he’ll go with Martin for his left foot and his supposed dead ball delivery (not that we’ve seen any evidence of it) - what Jay Williams has done wrong is beyond me as he has nothing but impressive in all his first team appearances to date.

Just to add, if Curle ends up changing what has become a pretty effective formation/style of play just because one (admittedly very good and important) player is suspended then it’s a bit of an indictment on the squad that he’s put together.

I agree. I wouldnt be stunned if we saw RHJ go in this window anyway, assuming we get another CB in. With the later addition oh Harriman at RWB and Hoskins playing there regularly we dont have the need for a 3rd RWB. I understand that he can play in the centre also, but probably lacks the size you would ideally want for a CB. If we could move him on and take on a CB it would help address the balance slightly based on our preferred shape.

You obviously didn't see Williams play against Peterborough earlier in the season, he was hopeless. Didn't he get hoofed out on loan, sorry further his development, straight after that game?

Currently 29 tickets still available. North stand sold out, 14 available in the east and 15 in the west. There must have been a number of returns as most of the available seats are together but previously only single seats were available.

Probably Scott Wharton's friends and family... 😁

We are not creative enough to play 442
Most of our threat comes from Adams or Hoskins attacking from deep . It would also prevent us playing Anderson as a floater .
We have to find a third centre back from somewhere

i'm sure this scenario has happened before (not with us) but other teams...

If we appeal the red card, due to the timeframe involved, Wharton could then play against Derby BUT could face and extra game ban if (when) the appeal fails...

So we could end up losing him for 4 league games, rather than the cup game plus two league games...

I might have just dreamt this but I'm sure other teams have done this in the past, just so a certain player can play in their next game...and therefore cheat the system

The greatest player ever to pull on the shirt, still in love with him (in a non sexual way obviously).
