Swindon and Plymouth look pretty nailed on for promotion IMO.
The 3rd automatic space though is very interesting, you could make a case for a few teams including ourselves. Not convinced by Crewe personally, although I see Daniel Powell has scored 7 in his last 9 appearances which is greater than his entire 2018/19 tally for us.

Agreed, I’ve got a feeling Colchester will be up there and hopefully us too

Bradford, Crewe, Swindon & Exeter will all win not draw
Bradford on a poor run, Grimsby starting to pick things up. Oldham really on an upsurge. Carlisle OK recent form, not an easy place to go to, Swindon's form patchy of late. Exeter poor form, Stevenage have got to be due something, if we can cock it up against lower teams so can they.

As always , it’s about what we do and not what the others do . Particularly as we are playing the top teams . The new players will definitely help us and we have Turnbull and McCormack to hopefully return. Possibly only Swindon had a better window in our division. We just need to keep the momentum going .

So the top 3 get away a little, and there's now a 5 point gap between us and third placed Exeter. A few teams bunching up behind, with a four point cushion over the following pack.
We can't drop down any further on Tuesday even if we lose, but we could go 4th with a win.
Here are the midweek games that matter....
BRADFORD (8th) v Stevenage Carlisle United v CHELTENHAM (7th) CREWE ALEX (2nd) v Crawley Town EXETER CITY (3rd) v Oldham FOREST GREEN (10th) v PORT VALE (9th) NORTHAMPTON (6th) v SWINDON (1st) Salford City v PLYMOUTH (4th)

Amazingly we would have been 4th if we'd gained three points yesterday...

Couldn't really have gone any worse for us tonight, Bradford, Cheltenham, Crewe, Exeter, Port Vale, Swindon and Plymouth all winning.
We remain in 6th, but now a distant EIGHT points off third placed Exeter. Only inside the playoffs by a point now too, with the three teams immediately below us all on 51 points. Then there's a 6 point gap to Forest Green, with Salford a further 4 points back and seemingly out of contention already.
Moving on to Saturday then.....these are the games that matter.
Cambridge U v BRADFORD CITY (8th) CHELTENHAM T (7th) v Leyton Orient Macclesfield Town v EXETER CITY (3rd) Oldham A v FOREST GREEN ROVERS (10th) PLYMOUTH ARGYLE (4th) v CREWE ALEXANDRA (2nd) PORT VALE (9th) v COLCHESTER UNITED (5th) SWINDON TOWN (1st) v Scunhtorpe United Walsall v NORTHAMPTON TOWN (6th)

Another bad weekend sees the Cobblers drop out of the play-off picture, now 9 points off the top three. The way its going this thread may not run for that much longer!
In the playoff chasing pack teams like Salford, Grimsby and even Cambridge are having an upturn in form, and Newport down in 16th place are 12 points off 7th place but do have 3 games in hand on some teams.
Anyway, here are the fixtures involving the top 10 teams this week....
TUESDAY Mansfield Town v PLYMOUTH ARGYLE (4th)
SATURDAY CHELTENHAM TOWN (5th) v Mansfield Town CREWE ALEXANDRA (3rd) v Macclesfield Town Newport County v BRADFORD CITY (9th) NORTHAMPTON TOWN (8th) v EXETER CITY (2nd) PLYMOUTH ARGYLE (4th) v Cambridge United Salford City v COLCHESTER UNITED (7th) Scanthrope United v FOREST GREEN ROVERS (10th) SWINDON TOWN (1st) v Grimsby Town Walsall v PORT VALE (6th)

Why?
Because Curles got more chance of knitting fog than getting us promoted. We’ve just lost 3 on the bounce against teams in and around us with Exeter and Chelts to come, we’ve also got a hard run in, fancy a wager?

A wager, why? Because i questioned you on your use of the word 'embarrassing' in describing this thread? We've got a chance of making top 7 and possibly promotion, hence a separate thread to keep track of the other contenders. I fail to see how that is in anyway 'embarrassing' whether we finish in 8th, 9th or lose in the play-offs. The thread is what it is and its very existence is down to a top 7 finish - let alone promotion - being taken as guaranteed. If you and honestly find that 'embarrassing' then good for you. You keep claiming in other threads that we will finish 'mid-table'. Can you define what you mean by mid-table? Because I am 100% confident we will finish anywhere between 5th and 9th, about 95% confident we'll finish between 5th and 8th, but feel probably no higher than 6th and most likely in 7th. If we do miss out, it will be very, very close and probably come down to results on the last day of the season. Whatever happens in the next two matches won't change my mind on that one iota. I hope that's a specific enough a prediction for you and it's one I'll stick by. Where do you think we will finish?

I predicted 17th at the start of the season, anywhere between mid table (12th) and 17th. Don’t get me wrong I hope we pinch 3rd spot or even a play off place but it’s just not going to happen, I do however feel the squad a Curles disposal is good enough for a promotion place.

As it stands I can't see us finishing anywhere below 9th, the wheels are going to have to fall off big time for two teams from the Forest Green, Salford, Cambridge group of chasers to pass us.
Having said that, our only easy games (on paper) IMO are Carlisle and Oldham at home, the rest are pretty tough, including trips to form horses Grimsby and Cambridge, and we still have to play 5 of the 7 teams above us, and both the two immediately behind us.
You could say its tough, but equally you could say its still in our own hands.

That's the spirit. It is in our own hands. People are talking as if it's over already, or that they want us to fail because they don't like KC or don't like his football. Excluding 2016 this is the only season in 7 years when we've been this close to a play off place. Let's embrace the challenge and get behind the manager and team. We might achieve something and you might all enjoy it! Stick together, Let's not bicker with each other, just #BeKind

Plymouth scrape a draw at Macclesfield, a result which sees them remain in 4th place, nine points ahead of us with 13 games to play.

The thread lives on!! After todays games we close the gap to the top three by a point, its now 8 points. And we are back in the playoff spot, behind Colchester but ahead of Port Vale on goal difference. There's now a 4 point gap to Bradford in 9th, then another 5 points to Forest Green in 10th.
As it stands it lookslike the top 3 will be from the top 4.....Swindon, Crewe, Exeter and Plymouth.
The playoff spots look to be being taken by four from 5, with the one above who misses out, plus three of Cheltenham, Col U, Cobblers and Port Vale.
Big game on Tuesday....
CHELTENHAM TOWN (5th) v NORTHAMPTON TOWN (7th)
Then Saturday brings us:
BRADFORD CITY (9th) v PLYMOUTH ARGYLE (4th) COLCHESTER UNITED (6th) v CHELTENHAM TOWN (5th) EXETER CITY (3rd) v Crawley Town (12th) Grimsby Town (16th) v NORTHAMPTON TOWN (7th) Mansfield Town (21st) v SWINDON TOWN (1st) Morecambe (22nd) v CREWE ALEXANDRA (2nd) PORT VALE (8th) v Scunhtopre United (17th)

Just a quick stat. Over the season so far we have 1.62 ppg, even with the run of defeats over the last 8 game we have 1.63. if we maintain this we would end up on 74 points, which apart from two seasons would be enough to secure us a play-off spot.
