Gutted, but no disgrace despite the score line.

Looked like a good challenge from Wharton for the peno too, ah well. Did well to keep fighting, no disgrace to lose to a good Derby side. Holmes sounded like he exposed our lack of pace.

A good effort from us with lots of commitment and running but I am afraid not too much skill .... We did ourselves proud and the support was superb . We lacked any quality though and a few of the lads were chasing shadows and up against brick walls . Derby looked a good side and it was a fair result . Goode excellent for us and so too was Cornell .

There were at times we showed some quality particularly from Wharton and Watson! If only we had Marshall and young Morton available.

Thought they were superb tonight and could easily have put 6 or 7 past us. The fact we got 2 is huge credit to the team. We should take great confidence from that and can now focus on promotion which is obviously the name of the game.
The support was very good and if we can travel in numbers for the majority of the league games left, I genuinely think we will spur the team on to the top 3.
Up the Cobblers.

Nothing to be ashamed of tonight. Over the two legs against overwhelming odds we didn’t embarrass ourselves.
Good luck to Derby in the next round...

No disgrace losing 4-2 to a good Championship side who play some good passing quick football. Holmes was at the heart of it and Rooney once again didn't misplace a pass. We huffed and puffed and did well to grab two goals and give the scoreline a fairly respectable look. Ref hardly gave us anything but was quick to blow up for them. Hoskins was good tonight probably my Cobblers MOTM. They had bit more quality. Enjoyed the stadium, has an impressive look and the lighting and PA so much better than Sixfields. Not great surroundings for food, drink or exiting car parks. Some decent noise from Cobblers fans at times and to be fair their fans too created a good atmosphere too. Will we have to wait another 50 years to go there again?

Derby's movement going forward was impressive, orchestrated by Rooney.
Well done to all the players and the travelling support was superb.
Let's get the full squad fit and kick on for promotion!

Derby were much better than us in their passing and movement but we didn't show ourselves up and ended up with a respectable scoreline to show for it. It's a shame the third goal went in so quickly after we'd grabbed one back as that took the wind out of our sails a bit when we were suddenly in with a sniff.
Another ground ticked off and a nice one at that. I thought the stewarding was very good too, although a couple of their spotty youths sitting behind the goal showed a distinct lack of class at the end by throwing a load of unnecessary abuse at our fans as we were leaving.

Agree with the above, gave a good account of ourselves on the pitch and in the stands. The quality of the Derby team was evident and showed why they are two divisions higher. I felt we sat off them too much in the first half but dont think we could have changed the outcome. At least we 'ad ar day art' or whatever it was they were singing and now concentrate on the top 3. Thought a few look tired so hopefully not too much of a cup hangover. Some big games to come against Port Vale and Swindon.

Just a note on the support - yes , we were there in numbers but this time it was vocal ( unlike MK ) and so credit to everyone on that one . It can be done with allocated seating after all !!

Always going to be a tough night when we saw their team sheet. Thought we were a touch meek first half and perhaps too open formation wise. Needed to break the play up and make it a physical battle but we were unable to do so.
Derby were very very good, but defensively really didn’t enjoy going back towards their own goal and we could have exploited that a bit more.
Very naive getting counter attacked 4 mins after we made it 2-1. That was the time to tighten things up and take it deep in to the last 10.
Support outstanding.

It was a game of four halves and we drew three of them! We certainly weren't disgraced last night but missed our chance by not winning the home game. Derby were much stronger than in the original tie, Holmes made such a difference, always finding space to run at us. Nice ground although I hate to say, MK's is better quality. We started well then basically gifted them two goals, at least we had a bit of excitement when Nicky Adams scored, their third goal settled it. Biggest surprise of the night was the Ref awarding us a (stone wall) pen, I had been thinking there was more chance of my hair growing back than him giving us a decision! Back to the league now I'd swap last nights defeat for promotion any day of the week. COYC.

- The first goal was scrappy, Not sure what was happening between Goode and Cornell and there was more than a hint of handball from Davies.
- I feel the penalty was very harsh judging by the direction the ball went in. The Lino was the wrong side of the derby player to see and the REF certainly didn't give it alone as he waited 10 seconds.
The 2nd and third goals we were all over the place. Harriman got found out to be a full back at times, We were punished for playing wingers at wingback and I think it was probably Whartons worst game for us. Far from the shameful performance though, the boys did themselves proud.
