Not a criticism or real point being made, but concerning the fans straying into the self entitlement zone, can or could never have been worse than the ridiculous antics in Italy (Argentina too) by the ultras...dictating away ticket allocations (not amount but who gets) turning up en masse at training to attack/abuse players etc.

We get Beds standing on the hill!  Grin

I don't think that he's even done that has he?

I've got no one to blame, as a kid I was taken to the Saints, I chose the Cobblers, it's all my own fault! Huh?

Being in my fifties, i normally prefer to sit at matches, watch the football and sing on occasions. At Derby, my seat was right at the back of the upper tier, row x, which meant i had to stand the whole game and i absolutely bloody loved it, singing along the whole game. The larger away followings, really do whip up the average fan into a more vocal supporter and lead to a more pleasurable experience, win or lose, which make you realise why you still love following the cobblers after all these years and all the dark days along the way.

My father was an Everton supporter and often regaled me with stories about Dixie Dean.
At school I was referred to that oink from Northampton whereas they all supported Newcastle , Sunderland and of course Arsenal. That all changed when I scored the winning goal
against Felsted, hated rivals.

The match day experience for me has changed over the years. From standing on the Spion Kop or Cricket Side with my Dad to the Hotel End with my mates, the North Stand with my mates, the East Stand with family, now Upper West midway between halfway and South with family and friends. We have a good bunch around us and love catching up with these and enjoying the game. We're just on the edge of the singers so get to join in at times. We get to see the away fans and I wonder sometimes what they are feeling and what their lives are like from wherever they're from. I think the West Stand loves a bit of controversy, especially a bad referee decision. I try and switch off from normal life for those two hours, make the most of the games with good atmosphere and enjoy the pump up music. 2.55pm on a Saturday when the players walk out to Liquidator is the best time of the week. We've got a whole new match ahead of us and anything can happen. 4.55pm when we've won and Keith Curle raises his arms to the crowd shouting Come On sees me happily on my way home.
