So let’s get this straight - you want Hoskins replaced by Warburton on account that he has not been effective . .... the same Warburton that has disappointed every time he has come on as sub and has been the least effective signing of the season .... replacing Hoskins who creates and scores goals regularly ?
Hoskins is marmite, some love him and some hate him. For me, he's not the player everyone hypes him up to be....end product severely lacking and hasn't improved in the FIVE YEARS he's been here. Can't fault his workrate, and I guess that's why KC plays him whatever.....if theres a hole that needs filling then stick Hoskins in there, any position will do, he's ok in most positions without excelling in any one in particular.
Yes he's scored 10 goals this season, but four of them have come from the spot. So six goals in open play from 39 games. Thirty goals in 187 appearances for us overall, so averaging this season, as throughout his career, one goal every 6 or so games. He has also picked up 9 yellow cards this season, most if not all for fouls, typifying the fact that he can't really tackle. I despair those who want him playing at wingback as defensively he is very suspect.
His best position for me would be as the small man in the classic little and large strike partnership, however he rarely plays up front and doesn't stand much chance of doing so when we play so much hoofball.
Warburton....he's obviously got something about him, as he hit the target with regularity for Stockport. I don't accept that he could only do it at that level, i'd like to see him given an extended run in the team, but I just don't think he fits into the KC mould of player.
Everyone has their own opinions though......and like I say some love him and some hate him.
