Perfect chance to bounce back from our first home defeat in 4 months with another home game on Tuesday. This time the leaders, who we beat at their place with a hell of a lot of fortune and a goal given despite being 4 yards offside. They've sold over a thousand already so a big attendance is guaranteed.

Think we need to win due to rivals having some decent games on Tuesday.

Sunny Intervals and a fresh breeze forecast for Northampton on Tuesday.

IFollow for me though this should be a pulsating game.

Swindon have only won 1 of their last 6 away games. In 16 away games they have scored 2 or more goals in 8 games but have also conceded 2 or more goals in 8 games.
Referee for this is James Adcock who I do not recall refereeing us before (have not checked his record)
Looking on the bright side, of the 92 league clubs Swindon are currently placed 69th.

Looking on the bright side, of the 92 league clubs Swindon are currently placed 69th.

Adcock started out in the lower leagues and reffed our 3-0 win at Wimbledon in 2011, he sent off Nick McCoy in that game. He soon moved up to League 1 and Championship games so our paths didn't cross again until our 3-0 League Cup win over Blackpool in 2015.  Spent the best part of two years out of the game until returning to ref this season, again  mainly in League 1 but with a few games in League 2.

Has only officiated 15 games this season in total issuing 47 yellows and three red cards. Has issued 14 yellows in his last four games, the last of which was Rotherhams 3-2 win over Burton the weekend before last.

So he's reffed us twice and we won both times 3-0.....lets see if he can keep up his fine record tomorrow!!

On the subject of yellow cards though, both Hoskins and Turnbull are now on 8 yellows for the season, another 2 in the next 6 games will prompt two match bans.

Really big game for us this. We need a real performance and hopefully result as we could do without 2 losses on the bounce and a bit of a rot setting in? Any chance of McCormack or Turnbull?

I will miss the game as up in Manchester for two days on a training course on how paper is made and the technical structure of corrugated cardboard. Interesting stuff. I can't even watch ifollow as having dinner with the other delegates. As excited as I am about the course, I will be wishing I was at Sixfields. So it will be phone alerts and Twitter for me. A decent Tuesday night crowd for a change although I'd say the home numbers will be down from Saturday but we may just creep over the 5,000 due to Swindon bringing 1,000 plus.
Swindon have a few injuries but they will still be strong. I fancy a 1-1 draw from this which will be a disappointing return of 1 point from back-to-back home games.

Strange that we have only 6 posts on this thread yet we are on page 5 of the Walsall thread.
Assuming that Marshall and Adams continue as our wing backs I would push Hoskins forward to partner Oliver thus allowing Anderson to return to playing behind the front 2, he was less effective in a withdrawn role against Port Vale.
To partner Watson in centre midfield McCormack, if fit, or Lines. I would also bring back Turnbull.
I notice a comment on the Swindon board that they have only won 1 away Tuesday night game in the last 5 years, long may it continue.

If Swindon genuinely are without Yates as suggested in the media (I'll believe that after hearing the team sheet) then that is a big boost for us.

Most Swindon fans on their forum seem less than confident, hoping for a draw at best but expecting defeat

Swindon fans are class in my experience. Not many clubs I would say that about in this division.

As for tonight, I will go for a nervy 1-1 draw and another goal for Sammy Hoskins. The lads are good at responding after setbacks and I think we will see another response tonight. But quite often we start well in our home games and finish really weakly last 20 minutes, if we do the same against Swindon I'd be very worried.

Yes, I kept telling myself that back in 85 whilst on the ground in Swindon, as 30 of them gave four of us a kicking!  Grin
