Young Academy striker Ethan Johnston has signed a pro deal until summer 2021.

The 17 year old who was recently on the bench in the FA cup game at home to Derby County was on the same pathway (Football & Education programme) as Scott Pollock and now becomes the second player to sign a pro deal after joining the programme.

All the best Ethan, hopefully you can be our elusive 20 goal a season striker.

Another local lad, so good luck to him.

I hope the current batch get the opportunity and don't hit the buffers as bench fodder! Especially Scott Pollock and Morgan Roberts.

Curle likes to quote how many academy players have made appearances under his stewardship but I think the more pertinent fact is that so far none of them have kicked on into being a first team choice .

You are right, it's really good that Curle perseveres with the Academy players when other managers would have given up and resorted to tried and tested pros.

I wonder how much Ethan would need to be sold for in today's market for that to equate?
What was the record transfer back then compared to to now for instance?
