I'm not sure we could have got a better draw really but didn't Brighton finish in the lower reaches of league 1 last year? How did they get seeded in the top half of the draw.

They were runners up in the 1983 FA Cup Final.

Was just about to quote the very same fact...dangerous opposition...more fool the rest of you for writing them off!

How much was that cup match thingy? Surely they wont charge more than a tenner for this one?

They were the last seeded team as the finished 13th

I would have thought the odds are very much in the clubs advantage however. Ignoring the JPT, where its about a £5 per home draw. I reckon you need 3 other home games in the cup including a half decent true, i.e a championship or premiership team, becuase otherwise anything else and the club will likely reduce the price to £10 or £15. But still, Brighton at home starts to pay it back if you have one, I would be interested to know how many people did get one.

I was considering it and had some email exchanges with the club as initially the charge for children was also £50 which I knew was going to be a loss othewise I would need about 10 cup home games - I was told then that there would be a charge of around 25 for children. Decided against it.

Ironically when i renewed my season ticket I asked for 1 adult and 2 kids to have a the cup match booking form filled in so they can take the cash from my card for home cups but due to a mix up they processed 3 x 50 for the bolt on so not sure if the childrens bot on charge is common knowledge.

As it was a mix up on explanation got my £150 refunded.

Am I right in thinking, If we go out to Brighton and are then drawn away and are eliminated in the FA and JPT 1st Round, those that paid for this cup match thing would have paid £50 for a League Cup 1st Round match?

Yeah, a quick scan on the OS, because im interested (and sad) and the £50 deal wouldn't have been value for money in any of the last 5 years, only getting close to it once. If you could say the club are going to charge £20 a pop like they do for league games then this might be value for money, but when the club are likely to reduce prices for all games except a championship/premiership club you are left hoping for a lot of home draws. The possible gains are massive, draw 2 home teams in the FA cup followed by Man Utd at home and you've saved yourself a shedload.

Languishing near the bottom for most of the season..Gus Poyet basically turned things around..won most of their 2nd half season games..and finished mid-table!

The chance to visit their new stadium at Falmers with the Cobblers..eagerly awaited!

On the other hand, if we beat brighton then get drawn at home again and in JPT and FA cup along with a home draw against a prem team then it the club that lose the gamble... The odds are in the clubs favour though

It's a decent draw but realistically does anyone still care about this competition.

If there's been enough subscribers to this offer then I don't know why Cardoza is worried about the thoughts of a couple of dissenters on this messageboard when he's got more than enough disciples willing to throw money at him for quite possibly nothing!!!!
