The Cobblers cross swords once more with our old friend Ian Holloway, director and Manager of Grimsby Town.

The Mariners are on a decent run, 4 wins and a draw in their last 7 games, they sit mid table on 44 points after a poor 15 game winless run in the middle of the season. Only one loss at home this year, a 0-1 reverse to Exeter, which was also the only game they have failed to score in in their last 14.

Head to head wise we've met 39 times with 17 Cobblers wins, 13 Grimsby wins and 9 draws. Grimsby have not beaten us in the league since 2004, and we have not lost a league game at Blundell Park since 1997. They did beat us there in the FA Cup in 2013 though.

The ref for this one is Christopher Pollard, he was our ref in the FA Cup game at Chippenham earlier this season, and this is his first season as a Football League ref having been promoted from the National League list. Just 22 games officiated this season and he has handed out 69 yellow cards plus two of the red variety.

Man@work, do you ever have anything positive to say? As you will not be buying a season ticket next season will you be staying away or sitting on the hill with 'Beds'?

What is there positive to say after 5 defeats in the last 6? And with a ground that is woefully inadequate and basically falling apart, broken windows in the west stand paint peeling off and of course the east stand shell.
Maybe you are happy to put up with this kind of thing I am not.

Man@work, you failed to answer the second question.
According to our chairman the manager is doing an excellent job and is overachieving considering we have a top 10 - mid table budget, whats not to like?

I get what you're saying but, 5 defeats in 6, it happens. The ongoing East Stand shambles is depressing but compared to the old County Ground we all so fondly remember, Sixfields is a palace. Compared to the other league two grounds it's average.

Most sides have a wobble; famously Bristol Rovers. Peterborough also; even Luton this season and MK last season. Luton have issues with proposed new ground! So you think we should have beaten Derby?

The wind is forecast to be South Westerly so it could be into our faces...I'm not sitting at the front... Grin
