Completely random question here.... I was just saying to the kids about players with the same surname on teams and how they'd sometimes have to use an initial on their shirts, like we have an A Williams and a J Williams. Actually, I added, we once had three players all called Johnson, so Gavin had G Johnson and, um...
Can anyone remember how we differentiated between Bradley and Brett? Was it middle initial?

I think Brad had his middle initial, never really saw too much of Brett.

John Johnsons parents, clearly lacked imagination. Given Roger's answer let's hope Brad's parents had a bit more imagination when picking his middle name!

John Johnsons parents, clearly lacked imagination. Clearly, they should have given him the middle name Sunand after the architect? I thank you.

Crewe had two Ashley Westwoods in the same team a few years ago. The former Cobblers and the future Villa player. The Crewe fans used to sing "there's only two Ashley Westwoods". I think their middles names both began with the same letter also!
We've obviously got Jay Williams, Andy Williams, Shaun McWilliams and Camron McWilliams too.

Ashley Roy Westwood is the current Burnley midfielder, and Ashley Michael Westwood was the one who played for us. Bradley Paul Johnson and Brett (no middle name) Johnson...... We have Reece Hall-Johnson now too of course.
