Lucky the club didn't spaff all the cup money during the transfer window like some of you were demanding they do.

That is a very good point and should give us the breathing space we need.

The other thought I've had is now is getting to the time when next season's season tickets become available. I guess that won't start thinking about that until we know if/when this season will conclude. UEFA nations have agreed June 30th as the season deadline now but that is subject to a miraculous clearing of the virus well before then.

This season is over, the computer model shows the peak infections to be June / July.
It’s like something from a sci-fi movie except we are all in it.

Why not take advantage of super cheap British Airways flights to Thailand?

The smaller islands are perfect right now and life is normal, the sea food is abundant, the shops are full and the beer is ice cold. Self isolate on your own tropical beach!

Why stare at empty streets through your net curtains when a panoramic sea view private pool villa on Koh Samui will set you back as little as sixty quid a night?

You're not going to be far wrong.
I can't see much starting again before September on the world sporting front and that may be overly optimistic.

Until a solution can be found, ie effective prophylaxis or a vaccine, the world has changed as we know it (stating the obvious here). All we are currently doing is trying to contain the thing. We cannot eradicate it and it is so infectious..from Wuhan to every corner of the globe within 75 days...that as soon as we resume normal lives it will jump back up and bite us again. We also also have to hope it doesn't strengthen further through mutation and become even more virulent as some suggest it already has.
It is not just affecting old people and the compromised like me as is generally suggested within the media.

CJ not as per Reggie Perrin then. Corporal Jones ?

The virus affects everyone who gets it, the old and compromised are overwhelmingly the one's at risk.

Words like "some suggest" say to me the following word. Scaremonger.
And before I am accused of being callous, my nephews grandfather, was admitted to hospital on Sunday, and died on Tuesday. He was in his eighties though. RIP Jim Donnelly.
My point is this, the vast majority of us will live through this.
Due to a little sniffle and a cough, I am staying at home for the recommended seven days. Which ends tomorrow. I still have beer in the cellar though. Which is a bonus.
You didnt get where you are today, by stirring it up. Now give it a rest.

I quite agree, at least that's what has been suggested (Ok with that one Tabasco?) but that's not a reason for complacency.
I had thought of CJ Hunter but didn't think I could pull that one off.

Ok, to be more specific, the Times published an article almost two weeks ago suggesting such. It's something akin to Darwinism I would suggest. Virologists would say that this is not an unusual thing, but apologies nontheless if I was scaremongering you that was not my intention, rather I just wanted to add some body to the conversation.
Your point earlier was to suggest this is one of nature's culls and to compare it to a season of bad pneumonia. How do you describe that comment now then bearing in mind there's many people at risk who arent yet ready for a cull and cant have a Coronavirus jab to help them escape one?
I'm glad you only have had a sniffle and a cough and are on the mend and empathize for your relative.

Well first of all, you were not scaremongering me, as I am far thicker skinned than that. With regard to natures culls, interesting to know that you noticed that comment. People will pass, the same as they do, when they contract pneumonia. Thats the way that it is. And the rest of us just get with things. Callous, yes, Realistic also yes.
We dont need people reminding us of it.
No offence intended CJ, and best wishes mate.
But I will shut up now, before Nigel locks the thread.

Little question for you. Back in 80s i used to work with a guy called Mario (maz) who used to attend  all of the Chelsea games. Home and away. Are you familiar with him?

Non taken.
As it happens, I go into hospital tomorrow for a procedure which if successful will give me a better chance of avoiding your cull should/when the virus catch up with me.
Last word from me.
Actually, to answer the question, no I will not be seeking a refund inspite of only attending one home match this season. 250quid for Morecambe it was.
