The best predictions of the course of this I have seen suggest it dies down summer / early Autumn, but re-emerges late winter. We could be looking at another suspension. That vaccine can't come quickly enough.
China and South Korea have shown us how to deal with this. If it re-emerges later this year we should be quicker to nail down on it.
There is, of course, the alternative "Oxford" theory that a substantial proportion of the population has already had this virus and herd immunity is imminent and further outbreaks of this virus will be like flu (killing a certain number of elderly/vulnerable/weak immunity systems people every winter). This theory will soon be tested via those 3.5 million test kits the government has purchased. Use of already known techniques but not extensively tested yet (on this virus) will also help in the period prior to a Vaccine becoming available.
