Hallelujah. Wonder if the EFL will embrace the principles and try and enforce new standards to save  the game? On the other hand they might sit on their arse and do sod all, I can’t decide? But at least one good thing may come out of the crisis facing football? People in a position of influence are starting to look at the problems realistically, and not before time?

Especially the point about players wages. I have seen too many games where highly paid pro's have struggled against teams of butchers, bakers and selfie stick makers.

What does it say?
* football needs to be re-set, more sustainable and less owner-dependent
That was the main gist of it, along with salary caps etc.

Has KT had a Damascene conversion on the road to Sixfields? If not, he is hardly a role model for other EFL clubs to follow with the state of NTFC's balance sheet. However, taken in isolation I would agree with many of his reported comments.

Elsewhere, there is talk of regionalisation of the lower leagues along the lines of the old Division 3 North & South.  I struggle to see salary caps being introduced or, if they are, policed properly.  Belatedly, Man City were caught out for having paid Roberto Mancini a second salary from an offshore entity years after he had left the club and City had won the Premier League. Level playing fields are very difficult first to introduce and then supervise.  There are any number of deceptions unscrupulous owners can get up to and, sadly, I am sure many would.

But, it does look like there will be some fairly dramatic changes in the EFL if the COVID-19 crisis continues throughout the summer

Vintage, KT it looks has had a change of directions, but still you cant resist having a go at him, what is your problem ?
Let's just wait and see shall we ?
I've seen many things mentioned about restarting leagues etc, but where have you seen the proposition of reorganizing the leagues into a  regional basis.

A lot of sense talked by KT .
I can’t quite understand why we haven’t furloughed players though . I think lower league clubs have every right to and credit to KT for supporting everyone .
Sadly , we may have seen the last of players like Callum Moreton , certainly live ?

Sorry I thought  there had been discussions about it.
Not just one person from a Northern team who doesn't fancy going down south on a cold tuesday night in February.  Maybe he should take his team back to the National League North.

Yes, a Tuesday night at Brackley, Gloucester or Hereford should sort him out!  Grin

Does seem a bit strange having those teams in a "Northern" league  Grin
A bit weird that somebody should spend so much time, effort and money trying to get a team out of non-league, then complain they have to go all around the country to compete in the Football League.

There is no reason why any football club should be in financial trouble. It is only the insatiable appetite for success by fans and owners or fans that is no checked by owners that causes clubs to gamble and spend beyond their means. This will never go away.

Yep normally after a player has played about 45 minutes they are deemed surplus to requirements, should have their contact payed up and a replacement should be signed.

The regionalised idea has only come from one man of a poorly supported club. I hate the idea and it wouldn't do us any favours being in the Midlands. Maybe someone could do a mock up of the two Divisions if they were to be regionalised now. We were always in Div 3 South back in the day, but Coventry have been in both North and South. It would be interesting if this was done to see the potential difference in mileage to us.

Totally agree. This has been the benchmark of a great Chairman in the eyes of NTFC fans whilst sixfields rots around their feet.
