At least it's not Breakspear in charge although Salisbury looks a little excite able. That Ash Taylor red card at 'Boro was a joke. I don't mind us in the black kit as its a decent strip and did well for us on Monday.
The company I work for has a plant in Exeter and talking to a chap there today they would rather be playing Cheltenham, although did say they have a couple of big tall centre halves which could handle our bruisers!
It's really difficult to call because we have the great performance in us a la Monday night, Grimsby, Burton away, Plymouth, Exeter, Crewe at home but also have a stinker in us too where nothing works and we run out of ideas. Promotion to League One will be massive financially and from a footballing perspective with the teams in there and will seem a huge bonus really. It's all a bit surreal, like lockdown has been for 3 months.

I was listening to Radio Devon, whilst trying to get out of Exeter. Their fans, players and manager were full of praise for our performance, especially the first half, realising that they probably got away with the three points. We should have been at least a couple up at HT.
All three of their goals were through defensive lapses, switching off at the wrong time, surprising considering our recent defensive performances.
Quite rightly, KC will not be happy with that.
A well taken goal by Charlie Goode. An excellent individual performance, capped by the goal by Sam Hoskins..
Many were hoping for a point from this, but weren't optimistic. The loss of all points was a shame but on the performance we should have had more, but I still think that we'll be there or there about the auto's come the end of the season.
Lots of breath holding when McCormack went down and off. Hopefully it isn't serious.
Kaja came on for 20 minutes, he did alright but needs match time to get up to speed.

Just looking back because I remembered we played well down there in a good game earlier in the season, we were unfortunate to not come away with something.  If the final mirrors that, it should be another good game.
Team then:
Cornell; Goode, Turnbull, Wharton; Adams, Lines, McCormack, Anderson, Hoskins; Williams, Oliver.
Subs: Arnold, Martin, Watson, Smith, McWilliams, Kaja, Harriman.
Not too much different but I would argue that we are stronger now than then, are they?
Interesting stat: Exeter have scored less and conceded more than us over the season!  Shocked

Only a couple of them and to be fair they have a point to a certain extent.
Although I liked the comment about the 'timewasting' tactics in the last 10 minutes on Monday. Im sure their players would have been running to keep the game going after turning the leg around and the fans would have been telling them to hurry up  Roll Eyes

We're more than 'just a football club', for Chris and all of us who are unable to go to our big day, let's do it.  Cool

We have a long history of playing Exeter with well over 100 matches of which Exeter have only won 25.64% with 29.06% draws and Cobblers winning 45.30%. For every 3 goals they have scored we have scored 4 so an impressive history let's keep it going on monday.

Agreed!

Blimey, can you imagine what they'd have been saying if Cornell had been in goal for the game? He's got timewasting down to a fine art!  Grin

Why are we so hated?

I haven't read through anyone other teams forums for years. But recently, after following a few links on here, I have delved a bit further into other supporters thoughts on us. I have to say that I am genuine shocked.

I always thought of us as being a bit of an innocuous bunch of supporters. I'd imagine it's because they are all c*%ts

I don't think it's the supporters neccesarily. I think some several years of Boothroyd, Curle, Atkins, Calderwood etc has given us a bit of a reputation for playing bad but effective football. Even Wilder isn't known in the premiership for free-flowing football. Plus the current team has that ultra-competitive nature that spills over into somewhat being cheating c***s (see Goode).

Its the Chelsea of L2 syndrome - long may it continue

PS according to Exe Web Theo Foley has passed away and just now confirmed on NTFC main site. Deserves a picture at Wembley!

I've just read that Theo Foley has sadly passed away. Given the link to both Exeter and ourselves, it would be good if they can do something to remember him at Wembley on Monday.

Cobblers Legend, RIP Theo  Sad

Remember the game at QPR with a spectator running onto the pitch to confront Kurila, Leck and Foley. Police soon confronted him if only to save him from defensive manslaughter. Never forget his 100yd run ups for penalty's. Don't think he ever missed one?
