Curle said he had a season tkt holder throw his ST at him due to current style of play.....can think of two or three candidates but please own up who ever did it? We can then have a just a little friendly chuckle.

Think that was after throwing away the two goal lead at Morecambe in September, there was some sort of altercation between Curle and one or two of the travelling contingent that day.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53177235

"Northampton only qualified for the play-offs by virtue of average points per game after League Two was curtailed because of the Covid-19 pandemic as they leapfrogged Port Vale into the final qualifying position. "

As they often say, why let facts get in the way of a good story?

Wow, how good was that? Although I was stil nervous until the 3rd went in. After all, we have previous. But Totally dominant and powerful again and full credit to KC, the staff and the players in what is very challenging times.
This season won't go down as your classic promotion season but those last two games are up there in the all time best in my lifetime. I've been a supporter of KC, sometimes feeling like one of the lone few, and I'm so pleased he has achieved his first promotion with us.
League One will be tough, it always is for us but it's a chance to mix with some big clubs and to have some local derbys. I just hope we can be there to see it live.
I'm a very happy Cobbler tonight.

Fascinating being able to listen to what the players are saying...Oliver and Goode basically get their guy sent off I think! "Little skinny runt"..."That's disgusting, could have broken his leg!"..."That's a red card, that's a red card"...and then the ref takes the card out of his pocket almost to calm them down it seems. While McCormack is looking sheepish in the background after what happened a moment earlier Grin Grin

Amazing result, amazing performances in the last 2 games, and who would have seen them coming?

Congratulations to Keith Curle and everyone else involved in the club.

The football has, at times, been awful this season and I have even described it as unwatchable. However in the last 2 games they seem to have come up with a direct but progressive way of playing, with the players "allowed to play" when we've got it in the opponent's final third. The end result was spectacular tonight.

That’s one question but is it true that we have taken the largest numbers any club has ever taken to Wembley and also the smallest ?
Or did Coventry beat our figure ?

That was fvcking immense!!!

Also in the record books for the biggest L2 play off final victory too

I'm happy to admit I've been critical of KC but boy, has he put many of us in our places with the last two fantastic games!

We've finally got an identity & the last two games have been fantastic to watch, direct aggressive front foot football

KC thoroughly deserves his long awaited promotion and imminent new contract offer

KT has also confirm he will do all he can to bring in Morton for next season (he was live about 2am from Florida on the It's All Cobblers To Me Facebook live feed)

Cherish this moment guys.....it don't happen often!

WE ARE GOING UP!!!

An absolutely brilliant performance by every player on the pitch - special mentions for Harriman, Goode (who for some reason despite being captain wasn’t interviewed after the match), Watson, Oliver and Morton. Turnbull did his usual unsung job and didn’t put a foot wrong and Marshall when he came on was outstanding. As someone mentioned on the radio, our fitness levels were immense - kudos to KC and the coaching/conditioning team for the work they obviously put in to get us fit and motivated for the playoffs. I’m so pleased for Curle who totally deserves his first promotion as a manager - I wonder if the guy/s from Carlisle will be back on eating humble pie!

Great victory last night, so pleased for the squad who have worked hard this season and certainly the fitness levels in the last 2 games have been immense, so well done to the coaching staff. I am really pleased for Keith Curle, I think most of us have moaned about his tactics at some stage or other and I will be honest I didn't think we would get promotion so well done Keith and hopefully now he has got us promoted he will get an extension on his contract and have a good go at league 1.

Worth mentioning that didn't Curle sign Harriman when he was without a club? What a spot that was.

What a night, opened the bottle of champagne after Sam's goal - one of many things I wasn't expecting to happen. After the disastrous first leg against Cheltenham everyone has redeemed themselves and more. Two of the best sides in the division simply blown away.                                                     What could we have achieved if MacCormack had been fit all season?
Sad to see Nicky Adams pull up in the first half, but Mark Marshall stepped up and gave a superb performance.
For the sending off - I actually thought it was MacCormack in trouble, as only saw Moxey's horrible tackle when the replays brought in a different angle. I think we would have won anyway - but that was a classic shoot yourself in the foot moment, as Exeter were having their best spell of the game. Do feel sorry for them, nice well run club and Matt Taylor dignified in defeat.
The score could easily have been more emphatic, and I could have had the champagne opened much earlier if Morton had put away the chance when he was clean through. His performance was otherwise perfect.
One of those rare occasions for the Cobblers when everything came off right, all the more remarkable for having happened two matches in a row. Great performances for all involved.
Would be nice to think we could hang on to the likes of Morton and Wharton, but probably need Curle to find a couple more magical loan signings as I feel both those boys have a great future ahead. Be nice if Big Charlie stays. But going to stop fretting about all that and savour the moment.
