I’ve read some of it as well, although struggled to see them give us any credit at all? From what I read we were a bunch of leg swinging Neanderthals and they are Barcelona but simply failed to turn up. Rather unkind, if I wasn’t so deliriously happy it might have cast a little cloud over my celebrations? Note to self, don’t go to Exeter, they’re all on drugs?

Nah thats Totnes.

Also why would they give us credit, (apart from the odd one) its an Exeter forum.

Oh the irony
May2018 Cobblers relegated from division 1 - KVV requests to leave as he does not want to play in division 2.
January 2019 - KVV finally gets his wish and rejoins Sc***horpe in division 1.
May 2019 - KVV's Sc***horpe are relegated from division 1.
June 2020 - Cobblers win promotion back to division 1.
Season 2020-21 - Cobblers in division 1, KVV in division 2.

From what I have read, they seem quite disparaging about what they see as our rather agricultural methods, but very fair in terms of its effectiveness. As I said. I work in that part of the world. The few that I have spoken to seem shell shocked. I don't think that comes from an arrogant perspective, I just think they were as surprised as us on just how good we can be..  Grin

Whilst we are on opinions. I thought both of the opposition managers form our play off games, were completely accurate and fair in their summary of the games, post match.

Looks like we are playing Wigan next season who will be at an unfair advantage because they start again as a Phoenix club .
That to me is not fair and penalises all of the other clubs significantly .

Been having a read of the Exeter forum. Lots of slating their manager and team and they shouldn't have tried to match us physically as we were too good at it. Most admit we were bloody good with special mentions of Goode, Adams and Hoskins. Some think we'd more than hold our own in League One as we were a class apart. Nice to hear.

Was this on ExeWeb?  Apart from the usual inter poster arguments, club and manager bashing's, did not find much on ‘admiration‘ but did not expect to find any. One poster under the banner of Northampton Problems seems to suggest that Exeter may expect a belated promotion via default. Gave up after that!

For a much, much more satisfying read, try Plymouth Argyle's PASOTI site... positively gushing over us (generally)!  Grin

When Bradford smashes us at Wembley though, how many of us on the hotel end were praising Braford and how many were just getting angry at Boothroyd and Platt? Most of the time you wouldn't be able to name the majority of the oppositions players in League 2. I'd have been very surprised if they were spending their energy talking about the potential of Callum Morton and not just seething at being humiliated on the most important game of the season.

I've just looked at that and to be fair they followed that statement with a smiley face and a thumbs up emoji so I'm pretty sure they weren't being serious, Evers!

No, neither would I, I don’t know what I’m thinking about really? I just thought we were great and was rather naively hoping it would be acknowledged. Obviously not going to happen, and deep down I don’t blame them really? Anyway the set up down there is great, their day will come.

They will not be in our division if they emerge as a Phoenix club. I think it us automatic 6 level relegation. More likely they will trade from Administration,  honour all football related debts and take a 12 point penalty this season or next.

They have entered administration......if they are outside the bottom 3 the 12 point deduction will take place this year and that could see them relegated. If they finish in the bottom 3 anyway and are relegated then the deduction comes in at the start of next season and they start on -12.

So say a team who cannot make the playoffs but are 20+ points away from relegation, can they cynically go into administration, clear their debts, take the points penalty that year, still remain in the division and start afresh next year?

When I say a Phoenix club , I mean a Phoenix business .
They have basically gone bust and are allowed to continue to operate whilst writing off certain debts .
That’s not fair on other clubs that honour their debts .
It is likely they will be in our division next season and they start with an unfair advantage . They should have points deducted 2 seasons running regardless .
Having said that I have sympathy in the current circumstances

Yeah Exeweb. I cherry picked the positive statements, they were there but obviously most of it was doom and gloom about their own team.
I was talking to a colleague in our Exeter plant today (he was off yesterday)?! He's a big Grecians fan and my he was distraught. Not totally surprised that they froze a bit at Wembley again but was full of praise for us which again was good to hear. They lack leaders where we are full of them.

After listening to Radio Northampton recordings, can we get Pete Walton to referee all our matches?
