Talking of Wigan it seems another club that was in the hands of a rich benefactor struggles? Dave Whelan, Jack Walker, Max Griggs the list goes on. Despite the best intentions it doesn’t always seem deliver on the dream does it? More stories of short term gain long term pain and associated tales of woe coming up I reckon?

Article in Peterborough Telegraph once again crying over the points per game method used for deciding final league placings, which meant they dropped out of the play off places as Wycombe jumped from 8th to 3rd as they had played fewer games. Don't suppose they would be complaining if the situation was reversed.
Article states that the Peterborough form in march would have seen them wipe the floor with any of the 4 play off teams. But then again the Cheltenham form pre shut down should have meant them having no trouble getting past us.
Tranmere can feel hard done by as they may have stayed up and taking their place makes us the luckiest team to gain promotion as we would not have made the play offs. If Wycombe win tomorrow they join us in that category.
You really have to feel for the Peterborough supporters - I know what I feel.

Not sure if I share your sentiments on those teams who have missed out. Would P’boro and Tranmere care about us ? I also believe we might well have qualified for the play-offs in any case .

They are not my sentiments but the opinions of the article writer.

It all goes straight over your head doesn't it? Bit like Paul Wilkinson.

Somewhat opportunistic comment considering you omitted to note the second half of WSO message!

I'm not sure how else it could have been settled. It was a pretty straight forward mathematical calculation. Anything else would have been the crystal ball method. Even if the season would have played out it wouldn't have been reflective of the teams pre-lockdown.
Sour grapes.

I’m not sure it’s a simple calculation for them, after all they have 6 fingers and webbed feet. Adding things up to 10 must be really difficult for them??

Well, it was in June. It's now August so I suppose you're correct.

I know I'm biased (and I guess it was a bit one sided) but I thought the L2 playoff final was the better watch of the three. Wycombe/Oxford was very ordinary and even though you could see both sides (particularly Fulham) were trying to play good football in the Championship play off it was no great spectacle.

The second leg of the Cobblers/Cheltenham game was the best watch of the play off matches of the whole series.

Was thinking this while watching the Championship final. Even though we trounced them it still felt like the best watch of the three.

On one occasion in the 1st half Fulham played at least 20 passes before they crossed the halfway line and when they did a shot from 25 yards sailed hopelessly wide. People moan about us getting the ball forward quickly but it is preferable to watching the ball go sideways and back for half the game.
