Cobblers have made their first signing of the summer - French-born Congolese international Christopher Missilou, reports the Chronicle and Echo.

The 28-year-old midfielder was released by Oldham Athletic earlier this summer after making 84 appearances over the past two seasons, scoring 4 goals.

Well...going by the video he is committed and sticks to the task. Could have you off your seats - even if it is just protesting every time he gets a card! Welcome Missi Lou!

Should suit our type of play perfectly. The type of player that KC can improve and will be 100% committed..  A good first free player..

A check of the Lactics forum confirms he was the one out of contract player they wanted to keep (76% did).
Prone to a mistake and not really kicked on as they hoped, but seems he turned in a masterclass vs Fulham. One or two commented that he was played too far forward this season, as his strength is in a more defensive midfield role, which is presumably exactly what we want... Younger McCormack.

4 cautions in 30 last season and 9 in 51 the previous season for a player like him is no where near excessive!

He hasn't played for the Congo since 2012 so won't go missing for the African Nations either unless he starts pulling up trees for us...

We have always improved when we added players like Niven or Ravenhill and this lad looks to have a bit more about him.

He seems to get about the pitch so he wont offer the calming influence of McCormack, I can see us needing John-joe or Byrom that will control the tempo.

Gets a slagging on their forum, apparently runs out of gas after first half and has limited football abilities, have to wait and see......seems strange we are raiding lower L-2 midfielders though.

Derek Niven, now there’s a name I’d forgotten...

Looks like a bit of a "punt" signing. Could come in and we improve him and make him a better player and there might be resale value or could flop.

I wouldn't take notice of where players come from, look at the reaction when Vadaine Oliver signed last season, now people are crying into their coco pops because he might not sign a new deal.

...And when we signed that little winger that couldn't even get a game in Pompey's floundering L2 squad.
