Wow! 62 out of 105 out of 3500. A landslide. NOT.
Would make it about 2100 out of 3500, with 12 options I would say it is a landslide.

Johnson isn't the type of manager who takes a team of backroom staff around with him- not any more, anyway. He did take Keith Millen everywhere, but Millen took over the reigns at Bristol City when he left. At P*sh, Johnson kept much of the backroom staff the same and appointed Nicky Eaden, a member of the backroom staff who'd been at the club for a while, knew the ins and outs and was popular with the fans, as assistant manager. He'll probably look to appoint someone in that vein here. We've just let go a guy who fits that bill. Surely dropping from manager to assistant manager is better than going on the dole. Is this just wishful thinking?

Good appointment, definitely gives this club an extra footing going forward into 2011/12. Marvo, you are first on my list of blame*. * I withold the right to blame as soon as Johnson is sacked at any point in the future under any circumstances, regardless of success.

Whilst I am pleased that DC has opted for experience - and at last he has gone for what appears to be the right sort of experience - I can't help feeling that everyone needs to calm down a bit and take a chill pill. I'm not wishing to rain on the parade but it mustn't be forgotten that money is still likely to be tight and you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. I suppose that this appointment will tell us whether our squad is as good as some of us think it is. I have a funny feeling that our new manager might see things a little differently and all of a sudden, some players' futures might not be quite as secure at the club as they/we thought. I guess his first game will be Chesterfield away then. Nice easy start

It has to be "B" Another big smile on my face. I always get the big decisions right.
Couldn't be happier, you can all blame me if it turns pear shaped. Up next year without a doubt and no need of the play-offs.

You seem to be suggesting that this forum is representative of all Cobblers supporters, from such a tiny sample?

"Andrew Ellis was very much against what was going on. The Cardozas were strictly about business and development so that was him out the door. Andrew Ellis was only ever a football man."

Does anyone know if BBC RN is covering the press conference live? Need to try and get to a computer if they are (or work out how to stream radio from a website over my phone).

I've already texts amd emails from fans of Watford, Ipswich, Brentford, and Luton, and all think this is a good appointment. Not often you can say that. I reckon a darned good appointment, but let's not underestimate the task he has - and I am old enough to remember the appointment of Paddy Crerand who took over a team that had just been promoted!

Lee Johnson would be a great signing in the summer.

I'm happy with this appointment as long as both Johnson and Cardoza know exactly what they are committing to. Having read the article TFAMH linked to yesterday about Gary Johnson's time at Posh I think it's important to remember that even though DC loosened the purse strings in January he\the club isn't in a position to do this to any large degree now or in the summer and therefore the playing side will still need to be constructed under a limited budget.
I might be wrong but I get the feeling that Johnson will certainly give DC a harder time than Gray or Sammo ever did.
Apart from this though I think it's the perfect appointment for a club in our position. I still think we have the makings of a good squad that is crying out for a man manager with experience such as Johnson.
Credit where credit is due once again to DC.
Finally I know it's going to be hard for some people to remember this moment in a year or so but look at how carried away you have all been getting at the January spending spree and now Johnson in as manager. You need to accept that there are financial consequences to these decisions and not bleat on about DC and how much more money we owe him. It's a gamble and you can't have it all ways.

Succsess in League Two, 100%. You will hoof it, probably to someone about 6"4. You will sign hundreds of strikers, in 3 seasons he signed 29 for us. Loyalty - he didnt last long at p'boro but thats because Barry Fry is a twat. A media friendly manager - if you've got your version of "player" your in for a treat, he always speaks in a postive manner to fans, win, loose or draw. A funny man, for example. We went 1-0 down to Cardiff in a game that ended in a 6-0 loss, Chopra ran across our technical box. Gary chose to do the funny thing and stick a foot out and send Chopra flying - dirty twat. Good luck Northampton fans. Hope Gary does you good!

Nut, You really do talk some absolute rubbish at times. Keith Millen didn't work with Johnson at Yeovil and hasn't followed him anywhere he's managed. Millen has been on the staff at Bristol City since his retirement from professional football
