He did take Keith Millen everywhere, but Millen took over the reigns at Bristol City when he left.
Millen was here before Johnson and after. You've got a manager who knows how to get teams out of your league the right way, he's got a very tight-knit style and when it works, it works brilliantly, when it doesn't, it really doesn't. When we started to settle around the upper echelons of the Championship he lost his way somewhat, but getting a promotion in his first full season from mainly cheap buys and free-transfers, then almost emulating the same with the play-off final in 2008, his record speaks for himself. He goes for teams that he thinks have capability; Yeovil were pushing for promotion from the Conference when he joined them, we were perennial under-achievers in League 1, Peterborough had just suffered a relegation with a strong squad and a wealthy (if dickheadded) chairman. Clearly he sees the same for you and I'm sure most at Bristol City will keep an eye on Town's results while Gary is at the helm - although maybe not if you start stealing our chants! All the best for the season, I can only imagine it will be a promising one. One thing to note, when GJ took over at City, won our opening 2 games, then lost 10 of the next 12 to go bottom at Christmas. His management style is different from many, he drops the occasional 'hand grenade', and some players didn't take to it. Give him time, don't get on his back straight away, unlike that mong McAnthony and you'll do just fine. Another thing - Lee has said he will never play for GJ again, our fans treated him like s*** when his dad was here, unfortunately.

Cheers for that. Say hello to Jamo for us

Lee Johnson would be a great signing in the summer.
Not a chance mate, he was asked by our press officer and he said: "No, I didn't go to P'Boro because its too low for my qualitys" He continued to say... "I wish my dad good luck but I wont be joining the journey." Although, you'll more then likely have a good new scout - Pete Johnson, brother of Gary

If we were lucky not to sign him just reply with a LUCKY not to sign him? Hmm, he would Boss League Two I feel, he is a fantastic target man, but fails to hit the target very often haha. Hes only early twentys, long way till the peak of his career.

Why is Jermaine Defoe spouting off on BBC Radio Northampton?
Is the auto correct on your phone automatically turning any two initials to JD a sign you drink to much?

His record suggests he isn't very good....i guess stats and records don't tell the true story and perhaps the jump to the Championship was a jump too early.

Is Johnson's son Lee out of contract this Summer? Do you think he would drop down to join his dad?

Yeah, you could say that. BUT he played 19 games for Bristol Rovers this season, scored a grand total of 0. Got 8 assists though... He has scored 1 in 39.... Is Johnson's son Lee out of contract this Summer? Do you think he would drop down to join his dad?
He will be leaving for Derby mate. He is Championship quality, and when his Gary moved to P'Boro he said he wouldnt leave.

he has also said he wont play under his dad again. Mainly because fans question his selection

Akinde is a free agent in the Summer so we could get him on a very low wage i reckon as he's out for the season i believe. Could be the targetman we've needed since Bayo left. At our level he should be able to do a job and of course, Johnson knows all about him

Welcome BCR, thanks for the heads up on the new boss.
Having a character at the club is great. I am gutted that Sammo has gone, he is an all time club legend but Johnno's appointment will soften the blow for many.
