I get the impression Francis Laurent might want to start packing his bag already.
I hope GJ will be the inspiration for Laurent to show what he's capable of.

Forgive me, i'm a little confused as to what you're actually saying here?
It's just an "I told you so" to everyone who suggested Sammo shouldn't be sacked because we wouldn't bring in any better.

Oh how you must hate "I told you so's" NUT, especially after what's happened in the last few days.

Nut rarely acknowledges when he's been wrong, he's too busy writing his next cobblers dissertation

Yeah definitely, will be interesting to see who else shows alittle more than before, as i said previously its much like a trial basis for a few of them now. just going by the highlights of the Burton game, Laurent didnt grasp me as someone really putting much of a shift in, playing like that just won't cut it.

It's almost a year since Bristol City and Gary Johnson parted comapny, 18th March 2010. At the time he went Bristol City were 15th. They are currently 17th. That worked well then. We had the coppell era mate..

On the contrary. I love them when they're about something positive.

He will get time. Simply because we all know he CAN DO IT. No manager for decades we've had before has arrived with the right level of pedigree. In fact when was the last manager we actually appointed who managed to get a team promoted prior to him joining us?
Certainly no one since before the Carr era. Marvo?

Nut "The King is dead; long live the King"
You know what Daffy, that sums up the last few hours on here perfectly. One minute we're in a state of shock, then sadness, then excited apprehension, then delight. Talk about an emotional roller-coaster ride. Thinking about it now, I guess that's why the likes of Linda & co are so unhappy, they didn't really get the time to mourn.

Theres much I would like to say on the subject but in respect to Sammo I will try to be a little downbeat...
Whilst I am delighted by this appointment....it shows real ambition...I still feel a bit like you do when you dump the bird who you love (who's a bit of a pig) and then go on a date with a 'right babe'...it just doesn't feel quite right. Yet. Hopefully by the end of the date when you start shagging her all will be fine though!

how happy this has made us fans. If we stay up I don't give a toss what happens results wise for the rest of the season. Next season will be the year.

Looking through managerial records on Wiki I think Marvo's right. I'd like to ask EastNpton how much "time" we are meant to give our new manager. Sammo had time, but some thought he should have had more time. I don't think there's any doubt that Cobblers fans (or the vast majority) will be buoyed by this appointment and will have confidence in Johnson's ability to get us out of this division. That automatically buys him time because the onus is then on him to prove that he isn't capable of doing so.

I'd nearly forgot about Sammo... I joke, will always love Sammo as a man, but I think, as much as I feel bad saying it, that we're in far better management hands under Johnson
