No accusations whatsoever just a view that we have gained a couple of million pounds in the last year and have lost Oliver , Williams , waters and Morton from the wage bill , gone up a division and have got within a fortnight of the next season without replacing any of the four....
No ones accusing anyone of financial impropriety more a lack of any semblance of a plan to prepare us for league one football.
The club dropped a bollock over Oliver believing he would sign and were quite happy to release the other strikers.
They are now relying on Morton coming back which is not guaranteed whilst giving trials to strikers who are frankly non league standard.

I’m not doubting the money is going to show up in the accounts I’m just doubting that any will find its way into signing one, two , three or four strikers that are needed.

If we can’t sign two decent strikers for the money the aforementioned four were on then somethings wrong imo.
It’s not as if waters or Williams were on peanuts.

If people connect trousered with impropriety then I apologise it’s a phrase I often use when I’ve had a windfall like a winning bet.
I’m just raising the point that there are funds and imo we need at least three strikers in before the season starts.
Today was ok but we had zero threat up front
Did either trialist up front have a shot?
Wasn’t saying you were Shoey mate. Just making the point that in the event we don’t pay money then it would more than likely come off the debt at some point? I have a slightly different take on it though? Hypothetically speaking lets suppose if reduced gates due to Covid rumble on we run out of cash near the end of the season? If you blow your wad we run out in say December? The more you spend the shorter the timescales regarding your ability to finance the club? I don’t know what the current financial position is but my view is to proceed with caution. The general rule of thumb when you are in an unfamiliar or unpredictable position is to assume it will take 30% longer and cost 30% more than initial estimates? Joking aside, knowing that at some point everyone runs out of cash, what % would you spend out of the Goode sale in an attempt to secure league 1 status? Personally I would keep to the financial plan pre Goode sale until the future is a bit more certain, but it’s all subjective? There are plenty of Chairman out there spending cash at will and damn the consequences?

You have to say Mark Marshall is looking another real gem of a find? I didn’t realise though, according to Wikipedia he’s 33? Although it also claims he is 6’1”? They’re taking the p155. Judging by photos of them together that makes Sam Hoskins about 6’4”?

He is a winger playing wingback, against lesser teams I think he’ll do fine but time will tell how he’ll do defensively now we’ve stepped up a division.

I agree, get over his injury problems and he could be one hell of a player.

Got half decent pedigree and if he has any sense he will know this could be last chance to prove himself.

I understand peoples reservations but like I said it didn't surprise me when Wilder signed him.

Id be very happy if he signed.

On Mark Marshall.

Down the right he looks good but down the left he doesn't. I expect him to be a reserve/impact player off the bench and nothing more this season.

The back 5 looked good and I was impressed by both Bolger and Horsfall. Add Racic into that back 3 and I think we'll be good. If we then get Wharton back as well - a big if by the way - then I'll expect us to concede very little from open play this season.

After the game KC mentioned about making decisions on the trialists after Tuesdays game...

Who are we actually playing on Tuesday and can we watch it online?

He also mentioned all three by name except Samir Carruthers, saying they had all settled well into the group, or words to that effect.

As for the game, probably another game against the academy lads as was the case last week.
