Andy Kirk’s Brechin City snatch the Highland League title by scoring two late goals against title rivals Buckie Thistle on the last day of the season. A repeat of Anfield 89, sort of… Never would have guessed he would have success as a manager in any sort of football. A return to the big time calls if City can beat Greek outfit Spartans in the playoff.
After a 1-0 defeat at Spartans in the away leg they won the home leg 3-2, away goals didn't count so it went to pens where Spartans prevailed 4-3. Bad luck Kirky, another season in the Highland League awaits. |
