Hello again everyone shoey here
As mentioned last week there was no need to worry about Cardiff who as I predicted were easily dispatched 3-0
It was a great opportunity for KC to play his fringe players (mainly because we are all still excited about the four new signings due anytime) and are lacking a first team but I won’t let that worry me.
Not even my spot on prediction that we would mess about all summer courting the brilliant Callum Morton at the expense of signing any other targets only (as predicted) for him to move elsewhere thus finding ourselves without a league one strike force.
No need to worry KC has it all under control and whilst other teams have strengthened their forward lines we will catch up soon.
It’s a shame West Brom didn’t rate KCs project instead sending Callum to Lincoln where they obviously feel Michael Appleton will be much
better for the improvement of their asset.
A bit harsh on KC and makes him look a bit of a nana
I feel sorry for Keith but it’s a learning experience and he will be better for it and hopefully will learn from his mistakes regards Oliver and Morton
The recruitment strategy was wrong but the good thing is Keith is a novice at this level and learning valuable management lessons along the way that will stand him in good stead further along the line when he manages at a higher level.
Lots of positives if you sit back and look.
The season starts Saturday (I’m not counting tomorrow as a real match and we may as well give our fringe players another run out) with the visit of Wimbledon
They imo have recruited very shrewdly and their giant target man will obviously cause problems but I can’t see them being any match for our team what with a couple of new proven strikers on the way.
It’s a master plan not getting our first team strikers in to the last minute so Wimbledon won’t know what attacking threat they will be facing as the season kicks off.
Why all the other league one teams haven’t done this is beyond me.
They’ll be no worries in what some(wrongly) consider a six point relegation match.
We will be more than enough for Wimbledon to cope with and I confidently predict a 2-0 victory with our new main striker and new midfielder scoring.
A welcome three points on the board no doubt.
I personally didn’t watch Saturdays match as I was tending to some hardy perennials whilst catching up with an episode of hi de hi where the Punch and Judy man was found dead in the swimming pool.
It was fantastic
I also found a coat I’d never worn at the back of the wardrobe that filled my heart with joy unlike a neighbour who had a disturbing experience when his dog suffered nasty abrasions in an altercation with a heavily laden and speeding milk float.
After visiting the vet the dog was pronounced alive and is recovering well but the owner was very shook up and will now get his milk elsewhere(the milk float was undamaged)
Anyway I’m looking forward with great excitement to the unveiling of our new permanent strikers and midfielders and even more so to our valuable three points on Saturday.
The season is here !!!
I must go now as I have to stir a lovely vegetable casserole in my slow cooker although my excitement was temporarily curtailed by the lack of any leeks to put in it.
I won’t let it get me down though amongst all the footballing excitement.
I have some old cigarette card albums to peruse before dinner and can’t wait to look at the one about trains.
An exciting evening awaits.
Love and hugs to all fellow cobblers
Il report back soon
Shoey.
